It was for these reason that the invented bible being not allowed to be read by the public. Afraid that someone might discover its plagiarism and forgery. To guard its intent, they sealed it first with the greek version, then latin ( they actually refuse to follow tha hebrew versions of matthew). Who understand latin then?? hehe

Yes! It was St. Jerome who translated the Greek bible into latin! Martin Luther protested not actually on the grounds of dogma but rather on the corruption of the church because Martin Luther was a Cathiolic Monk and scholar who was very loyal to the church! It was purely political first and foremost!

Now Heironymous (Jerome) was comissioned to translate it greek (vulgate). but he was too aware about those unstranslable hebrews, first he refused to do it, but his life is at risk due to his pledge with the church, he translated it according to the wants of the church and some to his simple understanding. And this has changed the whole thought. Hell became a burning place of damnation, Jesus now exist, st. paul became acquinted with jesus where he meant only christ. as if st. paul and jesus were friends. hehe.

Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't the vulgate the bible latin version?

The Vulgate is an early Fifth Century version of the Bible in Latin, and largely the result of the labours of Jerome, who was commissioned by Pope Damasus I in 382 to make a revision of old Latin translations. It became the definitive and officially promulgated Latin version of the Bible of the Roman Catholic Church. In the 13th century it came to be called versio vulgata, which means "common translation". There are 76 books in the Clementine edition of the Vulgate Bible: 46 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New Testament, and three in the Apocrypha.
