1. install warcraft 3 reign of chaos first
2. install warcraft 3 frozen throne
3. download and install the frozen throne 1.20 patch from the blizzard website
4. go to www.dotaportal.com and download the dota maps.
5. save the dota map file in the map folder... usually \Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\

you may also create a new dota folder under the Maps folder and save all your dota maps there... this is optional.

6. Play DOTA!
