My reaction to the Thai PM's comments: 'Look who's talking!'.

....perhaps, only one goal for these competations.......TO WIN!

but everybody should be glad on how we establihed sportsmanship & friendship to the other countries....

katong country nga ni-feel or ni-comment nga gitikasan sila, siguro ila na ning gihimo sa una...... NANIKAS PUD! just do not give weight of their speculations... let us make our heros (athletes) encourage more to attain our goal.

go go go philippine team..

See people? What I ve been saying even before. My apprehension has become a reality. We should be alarmed because at stake is our country's reputation with our neighbors. Tsk, tsk, tsk,
don't you ever learn? i hope you wouldn't go far as blaming GMA for the death of your neighbour's goldfish.

i was able to watch some of the games on tv, in particular volleyball, taekwondo and dancesports, and i must say the Philippine athletes won fairly and justly in these sports.

i'm sure we're all Pinoys here right, and one thing I've noticed and realized about us is that we have a strong tendency to excel when we have that motivation, that inspiration, that drive that makes us plow forward and give something our best shot.

in the preceding months we have had victories overseas, particularly in boxing, with Manny and Bobby Pacquiao and the other Filipino boxers who have won their respective fights and brought honor to the country. add this to the fact that our athletes are playing on their own soil, with their own people strongly cheering for them -- don't these provide the motivation and drive that our athletes need, to do their best in the eyes of their fellows, to go for the gold?

kudos to our athletes. go RP team!

Precisely! But somehow this shameless fact may ruin the reputation of Filipinos not only here in our country but also in other countries.

It was so impressive that our Filipinos athletes give their utmost best just to bring glory and honor for our country. Although, homecourt advantage contributed most. They showed with heart, with high spirit, endurance and commitment not only for camaraderie among southeast asian nations but also to prove that Filipino athletes are the best among the rest.

But somehow, it is a human instinct that being a loser is the hardest thing to accept. Yells, cheers, clapping and boo-woos are sometimes not enough to compel a victory.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) chairman Robert Aventajado said Thursday that two Thai sports officials have apologized over the remarks of prime minister Takshin Shinawatra about the alleged unfair officiating in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games.

In an interview with DZMM, Aventajado said the two officials--Gen. Jaruk Areerajakaran, secretary-general of the Thailand Olympic Committee, and Chaipak Siriwat, vice-president of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand-- believe the Thai leader made the remarks out of a "misunderstanding."

Aventajado said the POC will consult the Department of Foreign Affairs regarding the complaint aired by the Thai prime minister.

He said that Areerajakaran also clarified that the latter made no accusation that the Philippines team has cheated.

"For example ang sabi niya paano raw niya tayo maa-accuse na nandaya for example sa boxing e hindi man lamang daw siya nagpunta sa Bacolod (He said how can he accuse us of cheating when he did not even visit Bacolod [where the boxing matches were held]," said the POC chairman.

Aventajado, however, said that Shinawatra’s complaint would be handled on a different level.

    go go pinoy!!!
