Bai, based on your given examples practicality may apply in so many different ways and one of that is "be practical in order to win (like election)" diba? Being practical in order to win or to attain a desired goal and being practical in order to survive are quite different things. These are bounded by different faculty of reasons.

I'm still bound to respect your opinion regarding a foolish driver. But what impelled me most is that practicality doesn't compel an individual to do a particular stupid action just to survive.

being practical bai is not necessarily bad... it's how you make it that makes it bad... Practicality to some includes doing wrong things.
Some candidates involve cheating to win.
Some drivers cheats there passenger to have an extra money.
See this two individuals apply their kind of "PRACTICALITY" which is wrong very wrong.

But what impelled me most is that practicality doesn't compel an individual to do a particular stupid action just to survive.
I couldn't agree more... practicality should not be made an excuse to commit stupid actions bisan onsa especially if it's not right. I'm not saying bai ha nga dili to sayop... sayop kaau to.

Actually, this is what my coworkers here in JP are afraid of everytime the go to the Philippines (in general). Some people take advantage of foreigners, thinking that because they are foreigners, they are sh***ing money. So, they take advantage of them.

i blame dayun lagi sa "pinoy." mura pong ang ga sulti walay lahi nga pinoy. buot huna huna-on mahug ug kamo ra say ga daut sa inyung kaugalingon. naay daghan nga maayo nga pinoy oi. naa say daghan maayo nga taxi drivers. buang lang jud to siya nga driver. period. maulaw ta oo. pero di nato angay ingnon nga ah ana jud nang pinoy. it's almost as if some people are more willing to believe that we, pinoys, are immoral people than believe we could be better and that there is, there really is, among us, people who are good!

A wa man ko nag ingon nag there is nothing good in Pinoy. Pinoy ako. yes. But majority gyud sa ato di gyud maayo. Mangilad, mamentaha, mag minaro' ba. Ambot asa gyud ta kakuha ana nga value nga buhaton ang tanan makabentaha lang. It happen everywhere. not only with that taxi driver. It happen almost everywhere in politics, in the work place, in school, even in the church! My god!

Let us not delude ourselves amiga. We are always a nation of losers. Blame it on ourselves because we failed as a people to inculcate good values into our system.
