Hi guys, especially fellow medstudents and doctors (if there are any)...
First off, I would like to share my thoughts regarding the reasons behind our low passing rate.
Gullas was once one of the best med schools in the Philippines, but now it is one of the worst.
This pains me because I'm a medstudent of Gullas, but the undeniable truth stands out. I have
been thinking about our low performance because our instructors are products of CIM! I mean,
why in bejeezuz's name do we have a poor performance board-wise.
Here are my thoughts:
1.) USE OF PREVIOUS TEST PAPERS!
- my classmates would actually study previous test papers rather than the book!!
2.) NO GUIDANCE FROM THE PRECEPTORS
- during lab sessions, there are no doctors who would guide us during the dissection.
so its up to us and a medical book to find our own way. i mean, we dont even know
if it's an artery or vein!
3.) REDUNTANT LECTURES
- lecturers would just actually flash powerpoint presentations taken right off from the book!
then they would just read and read and read...until the session end.
4.) NO RATIONALIZATION OF ANSWERS
- after we recieve our checked test papers, the doctors wont even rationalize the answers,
that is because they are busy or whatnot.
5.) TOLERANCE FOR CHEATING
- some of my classmates are not so good with concealing themselves when cheating, so
when caught they are just given a warning. and when caught again, then another warning
again. no enforcement of discipline!
i've tried already talking with the administration, but i think it has fallen to deaf ears.
let's hope Gullas would rise again to its former glory. knowing that we are being ridiculed for
our current status, it is really demoralizing.
