An average income of roughly $10k/year by a HOUSEHOLD consisting of ONE person is the most recent USA Federal guideline for poverty classification.

    If a SINGLE person earns roughly $2k a month ($24k/yr), it will classify him/her as middle-class (est. $19k/yr - under $100k/yr).

The only way a $2k/month income of a single household be classified as "poor" is if that household consists of at least 5 members.

    I work for the government.

On the other hand, even to an illegal migrant in America, they have the chance to live a decent life.
personally i can never consider my life being decent if illegal ko. personal ra na. others might not think that way.

Lets see: a "Nanny" earns a decent $10/hr for 12 hours or at least $1500 every 2 weeks if you are in house with a weekend off.... Where, and how, and who is in the Philippines who earns this DECENT JOB WITH DECENT INCOME?
compare lagi dayun nato into pesos... mind you.... odd job workers in America are able to send money back home kay pwerteng pinobre diri. therefore, because they are sacrificing their own needs for their family... dili ni paradise para nila diri. lisud ang america para nila.

legal immigrants who happens to have a job that provides Insurance can benefit the health care system of America
Everyone will get the right to have a health care,
--- remember you said this... I tell you miss... if you come here and become illegal... you'd end up working with "under the table" compensation. I know some people who have been here for more than 10 years, they are still waiting for their boss to file papers for them. Agwanta na sila ug gamay kaayo nga sweldo kay promisan sa mga amo ug papel. Pahimuslan pud na sila, but can they complain? Nope because they are illegals.

Hmmm I hope you go back to the old posts coz we were talking about the cons of being illegal in this country, wa ko moingon only those who have health care coverages sa company benefit ang maka acquire ug healthcare, that is ridiculous. I see lots of parents mag self-pay at my baby's pediatrician's office. You can still pay for healthcare goodness it is just very expensive! Tsk tsk, at this point in time I think it is impossible to argue with you anymore, lisud man gud ni magpa know-it-all ta ba nga wa pa diay to kaari. Ari usa then tell me maminaw ko nimo.

Ganahan ka moari ug America? Then come, I totally respect that. And since you think it is not a problem if you come here and become illegal, then go ahead. Why would the article affect you in the first place if di na mo matter tanang mga somehow 'reality' behind this America as the land of milk and honey para nimo? Palapos sa pikas dunggan para dili mo ma discourage moari. I thought lang, it would be my obligation to show you the realities of being illegal. Paradise gyud hinuon. Paradise, misconstrued mentality grabe.

Hinuon anad raman ning mga Pinoy alauton ba. Sus! Wa gyuy mga ambisyon. HD forever du! I am angry because I see these Filipinos who are intelligent and have potential but they don't step up to the plate. Okay lang if wala'y choice survival na na ilaha, but if they have a choice, na legal immigrant na, go to school perhaps and do somethingelse. Naanad sa pagka alaut.

Yes, if that household consists of five people or more and the whole family is earning a total amount of $2k/month pre-taxes.

If a household consists only of 1 person (i.e. people living alone) and is earning a total of about $2k/month pre-taxes, he/she is considered middle class.

    its OK.
The kind of personality that believes grandeur equates rights exist mostly to Filipinos, and this principle set the tone as an example....

I just want to stay put with the topic. I feel so sad to know that the rebutal was drag to another subject.
Filipino should not allow themselves be mocked and ridiculed worse if it comes from a Fellow Filipino, something thats expressed here. Little did they know what their roots have gone through, and to claim that they are superior than us because I came from the Philippines? what a pity.

The power of information is not limited to experience thats why books and libraries and computers does not necessitates expenditure other than the use of ones brain cells.

It implicates that one's existence can only gain the right knowledge from your looks and your get ups but not from you intuition and know how. We may not have as much Libraries and References and Resources, but it does not mean we are inferior, it is the danger of assuming you are around with intellects, makes you believe you are one for no great leaders and president were elected out of silence.

PS. ( we are all behind the computer, not knowing our location and status, other than how we conduct ourselves would make of what you are and who you are...)thats my knowledge, I will stick to it.

Good Luck to All Achievers and the Filipinos abroad, Relive your dreams, the best achievemet is to prove the critics that your success is gained, not handed, not inherited, not by other's sacrifice but yours.

If you have a solid experience in the hi-tech industry you can earn 6 digits easily here in the Philippines. I did not ask for a job here , I was offered.
