Why not getting an EON card from unionbank?
Thats a Visa Debit Card and can be used for paypal, purchases in malls, online, whatever.
No minimum balance, just 350 pesos yearly visa fee.

A prepaid Credit Card is what more commonly known in the financial world as a "Debit Card". You put money/ "Credit" into your account before you spend it. If it runs out, then you have to "reload" credits/money again into your account. UnionBank offers one of these.

here are the up and down of what i've researched

BPI - donw: can only be used nation wide.. wa ko sure if pwede ni pang online. someone please enlighten mi..

Metrobank - up: naa kai reward points; down: you need to maintain a 15k credit unlike other banks

BDO - down: don't have much details sa ilang site you have to go sa bank mismo; up - daghan chixs did2 atbang sa pag-ibig na branch.. lol, bitaw can be use daw world wide

Unionbank - up: visa; down: WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! they are even lucky that i mention them..

    other possibilities
HSBC - atm na visa maintain ra ug 5k.. still checking..

at first I was leaning to BPI since I have an account there but now.. I'm leaning on to BDO because ma gamit man ni world wide..

    Pls be aware!
Last January 2, I purchased from Watson's Elizabeth Mall Branch using my BDO debit card to pay. The counter personnel denied my BDO debit card usage because idenied my transaction bisan prepaid ni. This humiliated me so much prompting me to pay for CASH instead on my purchases. Gladly I had enough cash although I don't normally carry cash relying on the services of BDO's well advertised debit card service!

After updating my account, I found out that I was charged the amount of o paid in cash for the watson's purchase. Upon investigation with Watsons records, I indeed paid twice for the items I purchased! I reported this matter with BDO . To date, no action has ever sufficed despite promise of credit 3-5days!

Then again, I noticed another transaction which was debited from my account last 1/09/09 however to my glee, it was credited back immediately.

Is this becoming BDO's habit? People better be warned and keep your transaction slips! I'm glad
I maintained all the evidence against a banking entity who could not do anything to correct the mistakes of their personnel or any their technical mishaps!
