@malic
there exist a palestinian nation but not a palestinian state. there is of course a difference between a nation and a state. a nation is group of people sharing or having the same culture and history while a state has five characteristics population, territory, international recognition, sovereignty and government.
a state can be composed of different nation...

so an israeli state is different from a jewish nation although an israeli state can be composed of a palestinian nation and jewish nation.
the state of isarel is not made up only jewish people, but there are actually muslim and arab-citizens in israel and christians also.
as ia see it the jews and the palestinians can co-exist together in one territory to form one state... which the hamas and some islamist extremist dont like to accept.
although i may say over-kill ra kaayo ang israel sa ila gibuhat, but then again.... kung ikaw ang naa s alugar sa israel... you're a soverign state what would you do? show your power and might, economically disabled the city and the hamas will have a diffiult time to rebuild the city... giving more time for israel to have full control of the territory.
innocent people always die in wars. they are the collateral damage. but for an amoral state making a point across a terrorist group they are merely means to an end...
honestly, talawan kaayo ang hamas ky kung muatake pina-agi ug suicide bomber... when israel step for the challenge and made it into a full scale war they are saying its not right....
the UN has no power... a resolution can do nothing, its merely an opinion from the UN...
