    Actually I like the thread ... but it seems its getting way off course anyway as suggested recently by the thread starter to stick back to the topics. I'll leave this thread open for a while maybe more suggestions will be posted ...

    the code you posted.... is it really returning the 'actual' record or statistics... as it finds it?

    I'm not sure if it is possible to get the actual record... the program can only register a progress callback to be invoked periodically during operation. The progress callback can be used to update the progress bar or simply call ::update (in TCL) to prevent screen freezing during lengthly SQL operations.

    I guess getting the actual record makes more slower, since you will be handling different data streams..
