why not just use the Clear-CMOS jumper settings?

the CMOS jumper was added there so that one doesn't have to remove the battery when clearing or resetting your BIOS settings. in case you didn't know, its actually a lot harder and riskier to remove the battery because you might damage the battery slot in the process. the battery should only be removed if all else fails or if you need to replace it.

check your motherboard manual for the CMOS jumper. most motherboard models have this jumper sitting close to the battery.
