Murag taud-taud na gyud ni namingaw nga thread.

Katong mahilig sa chess here's some updates. Viswanathan Anand (India) retains his title against the younger and former world champion Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) in a best-of-twelve game held in Bonn Germany three weeks ago.

Openings used were mostly Queen's Gambit with some transpositions to a more aggressive Nimzo-Indian in which both scored a point. On the defence side, Anand and Kramnik played Slav in two of the 12-game series and concluded it with a draw (1/2, 1/2) on Sicilian Defence (Najdorf) on Game 11 which advanced the lead of Anand to successfully defend his title scoring 6 and 1/2 over Kramnik with just 4 and 1/2 (Game 12 was declared unnecessary).

The fianchetto is a highly defensive stance especially when playing black. It is rarely used by professionals when playing white.

Usual probs encountered by players using the fianchetto (when playing in black) is limited movement of pieces because white develops faster (in terms of position) on the center. But when played well, it is also very dangerous for the white.

pero if white uses first the fianchetto.... mka develop pa ba gihapon faster ang white sa center??

I am really disappointed by Kramnik's performance in that championship match. He didn't even win a single game! Grabe jud ang preparation ni Anand ato. Kudos to the new Champion!

-sicilian najdorf for black as defense for e4 ...
    -KID for defense for d4
    -e4 as white

hehe but that was 8 years ago when im still a serious chess player..karon retired na..hehe early retirement
