I know exactly what I mean. Vista is still buggy as an OS...script errors are not uncommon not only for me but for the others (my brother and cousins) who have switched to it. I don't wish to post a litany of software bugs that I encountered here. All I know they are script errors and I mean script errors. Ditto for dialog boxes that Vista doesn't support this and that device/driver even if they are new. But XP works well on those devices.
The Vista platform (x32 or x64) is still not mature even for building third party applications. My bro, a programmer by profession admits that XP (XP Pro and XP Embedded) still remains to be the more stable platform than Vista.
Vista obviously has problems with usability issues too...a loadful of security prompts make the whole vista experience less palatable for both experienced and ordinary user. The only consolation you get from this vista thing is just the looks...between a good gui and a working code, do you think a good gui would really matter?
But then again, I'm not saying it's hopeless for vista. Just that we're getting more of a beta version of it than the commercial one. Vista as it is now is a big let down.
