Thanks for you inputs. What car models do you have that are chain type engines? mine is a mits adventure with the timing belt. Had an isuzu hilander before, believe it was a chain type since mostly isuzu engines are noisy. Also like what other car brands today use timing belts?

usually older engines use timing chains, they will last longer as long as you regularly change engine oil and always use the right viscosity. In terms of timing belt, it will depend on the model of the car, it does not cost much but the labor is much more expensive than the parts.

Where did you have your car estimated? casa? They give overpriced estimates.

go for timing chain, ang timing belt kuyaw ni maputol specially magsugod na ug leak imo oil seal then mabasa sa oil ang belt dali nani cya mo brittle ug kung wala ka kabantay maputol ni guba imo engine.

for me mas lig on ang timing chain bro and regrding s saba, mo saba lang na kung luag na ang chain and it means na its time to change and to prevent it na dili mo saba ayaw ipa overheat ang imong auto always check the water level as where sa timing belt walay indicator na kinahangkan na ilisan ang belt unlike sa chain kung mo saba that the time u change the timing chain and and gasto sa chain mas barato kaysa belt ang pag maintain lang sa chain mo ang imong pagchange oil sa imong car always 5t km. jud or if naa ka extra money mas maau everymonth ka mag change oil para garantisado jud imong engine..................nd if you are planing to chnge your car i would suggests na u go for kia ky ang kia maski mputol ang timing belt dili siya makadamage sa engine unlike sa toyota, mits.or any japanese car na maputlan ug belt stock up jud dayon ang engine ug dako pud and imong ma damage and i can attest it to u ky tested na ni nako ug sa uban pa nako mga migo

nissan sentra n16 namu timing chain pud... gasolina... dili man saba...
sir if pang-short term lang imung sakyanan (3-5 years) or if below 100000 km change car na, i don't think you don't have to worry if mag timing chain or timing belt ka... IMO

lain.lain ta experience sa chain, but if we listen carefully sa engine everytime ta mogamit this things can be avoided, ma.guba ang gear ug apil, maputol ang belt, ma.usab man andar imo makina by the time na hapit na maputol, saba ang chain pareha sa ISUZU pero quality.
