the man called Jesus was becoming more unpopular with the high priests and gathering more and more followers. rome doesn't want another pain in the @$$ and so, jesus was silenced.
but wait, jesus didn't die on the cross. he survived the crucifixion.

you mean his soul? yes, for once, we agree on that. the soul of man is immortal. the body of the man called Jesus has turned to dust a very long time ago. this concept is very hard to accept among my Catholic brothers and sisters. i don't know why. but his Christ Spirit will live forever.

Jesus the Man: New Interpretations from the Dead Sea Scrolls is a 1993 book written by the Australian biblical scholar and theologian Barbara Thiering. Using something that the author calls the Pesher Technique, the author purports to have uncovered evidence that effectively contradicts the biblical story regarding the nature of Jesus and his mission.
The central thesis of the book is this: "Jesus was the leader of a radical faction of Essene priests. He was not of virgin birth. He did not die on the Cross. He married Mary Magdalene, fathered a family, and later divorced. He died sometime after AD 64".[1]
