well, imoha sad na wendellmb.. lahi ra jud tag gusto sa kinabuhi... some are just simple people jud.. and others not

but for me.. bahalag way makuha basta nalipay kos akong gibuhat wui.. and i am making people happy too

ayw jud i compare ang showband ug ang other bands.. kay layoooooooooooo... ra jud kaau... like they said.. showbands play for moni.. moni moni moni.. bahala na unsa basta naay kwarta... and for the otherside.. they play.. for:

1. para mag pasikat/or gusto mo sikat.. or unsa pa diha..
2. para sa mga babae/laki.. kay lahi ra man gyud appeal, kng naa band..
3. para makainom lang gyud.. plain and simple.. human gig.. inom..hubog.. nya uli..
4. and for the love of it all.. the music, ect.....

pero bisan unsaon pana ingon love2x sa muzik.. mo abot gyud ang time na kapoyan ka.. din ngita gyud kag kwarta... i mean mao gyud na no.1 nga reason why ni sud ka anang banda2x...dili lang share2x sa music or sa talent.. dili gyud na ika deny.. bisan wala ka nag huna2x ana.. naa na sa imo sences.. wala lang na nimo na pickup.. kay na overwrite man sa love2x sa music

ol im saying is.. all bands deserves a paycheck... :mrgreen: although its not enough bayad sa imo gipangbuhat.. atleast naa kay makita... and dili lang sa kalipay na nakatukar ka.. musamot pa gyud imo kalipay kng naay bayad... :mrgreen:

let me tell my story.

we were just a garage band back in college.

but one time our music teacher was tasked to find somebody to do the musical part in a play they are organizing. and she remembered that there was this band in her 6th grade class who played all apologies unplugged. we had 2 guitarists, a singer and i, the drummer (i only had a snare and the floor at that time).

and she was excited when she knew that all these years the band is still intact. so she got us to enter into the scene.

we played 7-10 shows. we were juggling mid-term exams and practice. why? playing for an audience (who actually paid 150 to be there) is rare. also, we were playing for a different breed of audience--grade-school students, high school students, parents, teachers and professors from all over.

we weren't expecting any pay. high school chicks' cellphone numbers were enough.

and when the last show ended, we were each given a white envelope with the honorarium in it. that was the first time that i was paid for doing something. and it was a lot!

but the fact that we were this band from the garage playing hits from nirvana, metallica, DT, RHCP, no doubt, the dawn, iron maiden, live, side a (yeah, we played whatever we like) and we got to take a crucial part in a musical play is something that you just don't see everyday.

and, i sh*t you not, the fulfillment of actually being in that experience is something i value more than the thousands i received that day. and i am constantly hoping that the music teacher will call us again WITH OR WITHOUT PAY.

i know a few friends who just play because they love to.

but they had day jobs and families and bills to pay and all.
