Nice ang ubuntu, naa disadvantages, especially if you are not connected to the internet, daghan steps para mag install ug applications/update especially if you came from a Windoze environment. But it's more of a familiarity of a new environment.

Other than that, it's a good OS.

PS: I installed it on my PIII 733 512MB, dual boot with Windows XP Pro SP2, and it was able to run the desktop effects.
