@szichri: sir, question lang. Why do you take macro shots on insects? I mean, why man pirme insects? In my novice opinion ni criticiquing pictures, you are probably the best macro photog in the section now... curious lang ko why kana pirme imo subjects.

awwww salamat ma'm.... i just started shooting macro ra gyud ma'm (the month i created this thread)... and sir Beor is my local idol(he is the the best macro photog here not me )...now to answer your q...

1. technical and artistic challenged (you can't pose the insects you have to chase them to get a good macro shots compared to static objects). Technical in such a way nga ako lang mata-matahon ang exposure because i'm using el-cheapo macro gadgets (sort of hit or miss thing)
2. learn the value of patience when taking pics.
2. find a new species/insects that I haven't seen before
3. learn more about nature, particularly small insects(not just for me but apil na akong mga anak, they won't kill a fly na karon kay malooy na sila... pero kung mubatog sa among pagkaon aww patyon guihapon nako oi... hehehehe).
4. fascinated by their eyes.(that is why when i shoot macro, e try gyud nako og take og close up shots sa ila eyes).
5. Stress reliever and sort of a little exercise for me... hehehehe...
4. and as what jeppoy said "libre lang sila nga mga models" you don't have to pay to take pictures of them... hehehehe...
