naa man ko handmaid's tale. did you read it? i dont consider that sexist kay there are certain books that are enjoyed by certain types of people, but i refuse to let margaret atwood be branded as chic lit. sophie kinsella and candace bushnell na oi. wa sad ko nakabasa ana nila. dick lit lang.

hahaha. kana kinsella ug bushnell nya pakapin si harlequin romance mao na silay clit lit. mas grabe pa sa chic lit. chic lit nga napasmo nya panghaw na kaaug anso. heheh. sarcasm aside, infairness nindot biya to a handmaid's tale. murag 1984 meets virginia woolf. ang twilight asa kaha na nabelong sa? fanged clit lit? haha. atik lang.

ang Twilight kay ukay-ukay nila Bram Stoker, Anne Rice and the like... gilabhan ug tide and gibutangan ug downy unya gisul-ob dayon as something new.. shiny, shimmering, glistening like gold under the sunlight...

but, i have nothing against ukay-ukay and Twilight. I do have something against fangless vamps that glow under the rays of the sun and whisper lines like: "It’s wrong. It’s not safe. I’m dangerous, Bella — please, grasp that." and "I don’t seem to be strong enough to stay away from you, so I suppose that you’ll get your way… whether it kills you or not."

    Bitter lang siguro ko. )

okay ra ui. everyone should be entitled to their own preferences. pero kalagot lang kaayo ning media and the way they fabricate hype. the way they sell unoriginal crap as something new(far the lack of a better word).

The loss of quality that is so evident at every level of spectacular language, from the objects it glorifies to the behavior it regulates, stems from the basic nature of a production system that shuns reality. The commodity form reduces everything to quantitative equivalence. The quantitative is what it develops, and it can develop only within the quantitative. - Guy Debord, The Society of the Spectacle
