well yeah, u just cut it in half, but the crix just work perfectly fine...
hahahahaha.. its ok, slings eat anything dead or alive and in this way it insures ur pets survival... atleast u know the food wont eat ur pet.. lol... powerfeeding is by feeding it everyday... lol... let it burst... eat eat eat... go go go.. hehehehehe
patay kung mu burst...hehehe
btw powerfeed jd ky dali ra mu daku...
actually doc, they don't really scavenge carrions or animals that are long dead. they wont really touch that. at all stages, these spideys will take on live feeders.
in captivity, hobbyists sometimes cant get their hands on small young roaches or crix that they resort to feeding slings with big superworms (which are readily available in most petshops) by chopping it and giving the sling a small portion. a hungry sling in a small enclosure do not really have any choice but to eat the food.
I also powerfeed my slings by giving them crickets that are almost as big as the sling. but you dont just get such a crix and drop it in your sling's enclosure. that's one sure way of getting your sling injured by the crix.
what I do is shake the crix in a small plastic container until it gets really dizzy, then I pinch the head with a tweezer to make sure that it wont get revived while inside the sling's enclosure. and to be on the safe side, I remove the strong jumping legs. insects don't die easily so while the crix is still weakly twitching in the enclosure...the sling will then pounce on the immobilized (not yet dead) prey. this is done to ensure that a jumping and kicking crix wont injure your sling. and with a big prey item, the sling will get its abdomen full in no time, allowing it to grow faster/bigger after each molt.
as it grows bigger and stronger, you no longer need to paralyze feeder crix when power feeding as it can now tackle a fair sized crix. just avoid a feeder that is bigger and stronger than the T.
Woa, nice input there mate... Ey, dont forget my presents when you get back from davao... A p.baerii would do just great...
Wow, very nice input bro! I can just imagine me doing it in the future lolz! I also have heard of others refrigerating their crickets for awhile so they will slow down, could this be a possible solutions too? Btw bro, so far so good, will change/clean there enclo. tomorrow!

To Everyone: Guys I think this thread is similar to the Insect "T" Side thread so I am thinking of a merger, are all of you in favor of doings so?
OR do you want to have one thread for arachnids and one thread for S's?![]()

@ muzikfreakah: thanks bro!refrigerating insects will immobilize them for sure. but i dont have the time to do that. selecting and getting the right crix with my plastic crix "catcher", shaking the catcher to stun the crix, pinching the head/removing jumping legs & dropping it in the T sling's enclosure only takes me 15-20sec max.
with plenty of inverts to feed, i will sort for a faster option. hehehe!
i already miss my gex!but i'm confident they're in good hands naman during their "vacation". hehehe!
