    Hello scarab,

    the router is ZyXel Prestige 600 (provided by PLDT).. im not familiar with routers. What does 'arp -a' means?
    Maybe the PLDT technician configures the router to DIAL, not the AUTO DIAL configuration.

    Do you know how to access the ZyXel router and change its configuration?

    @nutjugger

    You can access through GUI / web-based management. You can't configure the Zyxel coz pldt provides the password.. I think they are only one who have the access...

    is this your setup? from dsl-router to winxp or from dsl-router to linksys? sorry coz i was confused....

    to go to the dos promt...click START then RUN
    then type 'cmd' then the window with do prompt will show...
    on the prompt type 'arp -a' (without the single qoute)

    SO if thats the case, i think your dsl modem will be the one to dial. How come that your winxp will innitiate the dialing procedure? I wonder about that....

    Or maybe the dsl modem has already a public ip add and LAN port side configures to be pppoE.... hehehe
