you need them both... core duo is great for gaming, i think, coz im using dual core and its good handling games such as crysis and far cry2...... just got to have a high end card... ur probably a noob for this and its okay

a balance of both but if you have a better GPU then the GPU will do most of the processing power rather than the CPU.
