i think the difference is more in the production side. Panday was shoot in Luzon, in Bohol, and they were even planning to shoot in Davao. kabantay sad ko lahi sad ang movement sa camera. kabantay mo morag nisaka ang camera gikan sa ubos padung sa taas sa bell tower sa church. experts say this series has different cinematography compared to usual TV series. in short the production of Panday is just like or even better than the production of a movie.
