Which is better? ATI or Nvidia?

both cards are seemingly equal..its a matter of personal preference!

In high resolutions w/ aa+af

I think ATI is better when high doses AA and AF are enabled and completely pawns the GTX260. While GTX260 in lower resolutions without AA and AF will dominate the 4870.

this is the case for the "old" GTX 260. but the new one is almost always on par with the 4870.

whichever you will use, its a matter of personal preference. but as of this writing, the throne goes for 4870x2...

Yeah they are somewhat at par. But GTX260 is more expensive like for like 20$ more. 4870 1gb is for $240 while GTX260 is $260 so still ATI has the edge. Cheaper card and potentially faster with newer driver releases.
