colubrids are rear or back-fanged snakes eg. corn's, rat's or king's (Elaphe sps.); wolf's (Lycodon sps.); cat's (Boiga sps.); to name few are some of the few examples of the cmmon colubid. most are quite harmless, but some like the Mangrove snake and most cat's (Boiga dendrophilia) are quite venomous and packs a punch! There's atleast 360 recorded deaths of Boiga dendrophilias here in SE asia...

elapids are front-fanged sankes eg. cobra's (Naja sps.); coral's (Hemibungarus); kraits (Bungarus); sea's (Laticauda sps.); a few fine examples of very beautiful, magnificent speices of elapids. all very beautiful, all very bloody deadly...

Vipers are vipirids. Now that includes rattler's (Crotalus sps.) and common arboreal vipers here (T.flavomaculatus and T.wagleri and T. albobrabis). Now these are the supermodels of the bloody snakey world! Very photogenic, extremely gorgeous and beautiful.. But their bites too are blimy deadly too!!

Hope that aswers it, blokes.... heheheh....
