naa sad raba vatican bank and i think i don't need to be a banker or economist to know that as long as your money earns interest in a bank IT IS TAXABLE.
By the fact that the vatican has a bank proves that money indeed grows in the church. how? i'm not exactly sure but one basic thing is in order for money to grow in a bank it is invested on *something*. That, again, IS TAXABLE.

= If you won't give your donations, you will go to hell. Now try removing all the services and facilities run and owned by religious institutions and watch this country's social services totally collapse!
Filipino + Religion (RCC...) = Corruption?
So much for the church's influence.
This is very ridiculous. What income are we talking about? Donation? its not income, its donation. Anyway, I think there is a law taxing donations involving large sum of money (some rich folks do this, instead of giving inheritance to their heirs, they give it as donations because donation tax is significantly lower than inheritance tax), but taxing a one peso coin donated to the church by a person will be a daunting task and impractical. kalas kalas lang nas papel ug tinta^ para resibo.
Actually it is not. It is very sensible.
We are talking more than just the 1 peso that rolls on the offering plates. We are talking big: like the vast properties this religious groups hold for free in the name of G(g)od(s).
For instance, notice that big-big property along that street in Mabolo. That is almost the same length as the Ayala properties. That is probably bigger than IT Park when combined. If that will be converted into another IT Park or be developed like Ayala, thousands of people in all walks of life would have benefited. But on its current state only the vultures of RC benefited...they're even earning from it for free. Even my dog says "Arf! that's unfair!".
That is only the tip of the iceberg. A number of religious groups have a major stake on business entities that are benefiting from this tax exemptions. Now that is really an unfair business practice...really ironic isn't it? They should walk the talk...coz this is a subtle tax evasion they're doing.

This is even more ridiculous. That property is a monastery of the nuns. What income are you talking about in that place? You seem like drolling over RC's properties. We are just talking about income taxes in here bro, not coveting other people's properties. I am even amused of your suggestions about IT Parks, etc, as if we have all the money to make the development. Of course, that land belongs to the nuns(you just called them RC's vultures), if you convert it into an IT Park, the income should go to that group and since it is called income, they will pay income tax to the government where the real vultures are sitting pretty. Pero, mas madayon pa siguro ang CUIDAD ni Gwen kaysa imong proposal. Anyway, as I have said, lets just talk about income taxes nalang bro and not blow up things out of proportion.
If you want you can create a thread about expropriating properties of the religious institutions so that we can discuss the foolishness appropriately.
And who says the religious are not paying taxes? When I paid my tuition at my school, I was given receipt and it was run by a religious institution. I don't know where you guys graduated from, didn't your schools issued receipt?
the religious paying taxes and the Church itself paying taxes are two different things. this is what's ridiculous---people are going to Church and they pay taxes, while the Church they go to is sitting on high horse for tax exemption.
