for me , basing sa imo setup, knowing nga dug.ol ra ang mga pc, might consider wireless rather than wired. but, you need a good router for that matter, consider buffalo whr-g125, 1,800 ra na, and flash it with ddwrt firmware, but you would also need a dongle or a pci wifi adapter, cost around 600-800+ for the dongle and 900-1200+ f or the pci adapter, hinoun, costly ang wireless, pero neat ang setup..and if gusto pa gyud ka ug "3 TIMES MAS KUSUG PA SA WIRED (100Mbps) , WHICH IS AROUND 300Mbps" for a wireless setup go for the WIFI-N Standard. pero costly gyud ni compared sa wired coz you have to pair the "Wifi-N router" with a WIFI-N dongle or adapter. And oh , i almost forgot, WIFIs works even if you have a wireless phone at home. hope this helps..

kita ko sa link nimo sa wireless router, 802.11n na man diay nia, with 4 ethernet 10/100 ports. It's cheaper than competition that could range from 3k-4k.

Kung kana imong gamiton, you have 3 options:

    1. If you go WiFi, just make sure naa WiFi capability imong existing PCs/laptops. If wala, you need to buy the likes of WiFi N/G/B PCI LAN cards.
    2. If you go wired, make sure naa ka 10/100/1000Mbps ethernet LAN cards, be it PCI or on-board.
    3. A combination of wired & WiFi.

Ikaw na lang compute unsa mas cost-effective

If you have 4pcs with a budget of 3k, wireless would be too expensive. So better go wired setup.
Buy a cheap wireless/wired router which is around 1.5k~2k, then buy enough CAT-5 wires to connect all 4 PC's to the router. Good luck bro!

No need router if wired ang setup, You buy Switch 8 port any brand, Price: i think 800 pesos more or less, RG 45 connector class A: price: 10 pesos each in fastwin, UTP cable price: 10 pesos per meter.

Estimated price 1.4k for your 4 pc's completed setup done.

i think ok ra sad wired/wireless nimo: a 8-port cdrking switch at 480 pesos will do. Since there are 4 computers sa inyo house and if naa ka wifi ready laptop, you can add cdrking LP-8188 sa imo cdrkig switch and then you have a wired and at the same time wireless ready imo setup.

What ISP are you on? If you have DSL, you can just get a switch and hook it up to the modem. Ideally the modem itself will take care of DHCP, so addressing will be easy. If you have SmartBRO (ugh), you may have to tinker around. You can either get a multiport router (instead of just a switch), hook the uplink up to the SmartBRO SM, and use that as your gateway, or use one of your computers as a gateway with Windows Internet sharing or something. The latter will take a bit of setup, and a gateway with two ethernet cards would be ideal.

Generally, if you are using desktops, go wired. It is faster, more reliable, and secure (no need to worry about neighbors leeching off your wifi). If you have some laptops, then a wireless router with ethernet ports might be nice. You can get a good one for 2.5k+. I recommend investing in quality hardware.

Oh, you have SmartBRO. Sorry then, hehe. Post if you need help with the setup. There are probably tutorials online already. It takes a bit of work to get Inet sharing working with SmartBRO.
