granted the reason is any of those mentioned, how should one say it to his boss?

    Analogy:
Teacher: Why were you absent yesterday?
Honest Student: I had more important things to do.

My point being if you find yourself unmotivated to even show-up on time, it will eventually show in your attitude towards your work, peers, and superiors. Why not find another job that's more interesting to you?

Or start your own business? You will be your own boss and answerable only to yourself.

That's beside the point. again, using the reasons you mentioned, if one day you get to work late because you are demotivated or demoralized because of your boss or workmates, how will you say THAT to your boss?

Teacher: Why aren't you attending my classes?
Honest Student: Honestly, I have better use of my time elsewhere.

Then it's time to sit your boss/workmates down and have a talk with them. Maintaining a harmonious co-existence in the work place is vital -- especially if you're in a team. Me thinks there's no other way to deal with this since you will be dealing with these people on a daily basis.

Talk to them and try to arrive at a compromise. If things don't improve then it's probably time to pack your bags.

    that is usually the case.

    Boss: Why were you late?
Employee: I got stuck in traffic, sir.
Boss: Don't give me that excuse.

The boss doesn't really want to know why you're late, does he? He just wants to be your task master. Many smart and effective people get to work late sometimes, so unless being on time is crucially important, for heaven's sake don't bring up the issue of tardiness!

Employee: btaw boss...Naa bangga sa eskina boss...(sounds like " The Boy who cried Wolf ", right)

This usually happens if imo na n.sulti ang mga bestest of best excuses nmo..redundant na...

You have said every possible excuse na...

Being a Habitual Tardy/Late comer is a behavioral issue.
Being late once or twice, it's not a problem...

now, Who wud spend time thinking about the best excuse of being late?
    hahaha....

Employee: I'm sorry I'm late boss...
Boss: It's ok. This is the first time anyway...
