what scenario would u be having if:

    1) the mall itself saves on paying for security guards and leave their malls at the mercy of these scrupulous elements?

    2) you have an ill-equipped police force, good only for press release anf publicity stunts?

    3) you have an over-eager-beaver politico who's always quick to steal the limelight for personal (read : future) political gains?

    answer : Cebu City

the concessionaires should FORCE the mall operator/management to install security guards in their establishment!

dang! thats the only mall in cebu city (or probably the whole world) that does not employ security guards even at their main entrances!

grabe gyud ni si LUYM tsk tsk tsk.. mahal lang paparking dira pero parte seguridad sa ila mga customers ug tenants pikatan ra! gabaan ta ni sila!

Just a quick clarification. The robbery took longer than 3 mins. My office is near the robbed store, and yes, in face of danger its better to be a living coward than a dead hero. I also tried to call the police station but wlay mu tubag. I even called a friend who had police frens while i was hiding. Kay its not easy when your faced in a certain danger when your not sure kung what those robbers will think of next. Will they shoot someone? or get ba someone as hostage so they can get out. What if ma corner na nua cla somewhere and take somebody as a shield, esp na duol na syag mga schools. IMO the amount they lost kay ma balik lang, what if someone was killed, would that be worse?
After the security said na ni lakaw na mga kawatan ni gawas ko to c the site, in short nag chinismosa, but then i heard a gunshot so kadali kog dagan balik my office uy hehe.. way gamit mga die hard movies gpang tanaw. hehe...

ahaka oi. the chief of security should have ordered the ground exit barricaded considering that they were at the top. then put out a shoot to kill order. the crooks would be trapped like rats inside the car.

@wak_wak: don't count on it. The only reason why gamay ra security ang building is because nagtinihik ang tag-iya ug gasto ug security.

It was clarified in the newspapers today that the heist lasted approximately 30 minutes.

I would just like to tell you that what you did by trying to help the victims thru calling the cops was a very brave thing to do. Most people would have frozen in panic.

Ayaw lang pakit-a ang mga tulisan kay basin ma-iritar..

Not sure if shoot to kill is sakto sad, remember the incident lst time in mla, when they killed the carnappers, gpang investigate na nua cla instead of commending them. the ground exit was barricaded, mao na ni pusil ang theives kay hinay ni saka ang barricade. if 6 people point high powered guns in your face the best you can do is give in. the security guards are not trained enough in face of dangers like these thats why ma kita nmo usually ang ma patay are the guard n not cops. kay dugay man mga pulis mu abot then anha na cla pusil if mag talikod na mga kawatan. tago sa cla una.

I actually thought of the same thing afterwards na shoot them while they are in the car, but during the moment of the robbery, its really hard to think sa tinuod lang, the best is not to panic lang jud, maayo gai the owner sa shop wla ni panic when i believe 3 guns were pointed at her, she just let them do what they wanna do, if ni panic sya, the theives would panic as well and maybe start shooting. Lets not froget, what we see in the movies are all scripted, they are actors, kbaw na cla what will happen next. but in real life its a totally different ballgame. Im just lucky to to be alive, to get home to my family kay if nag shoot-out to cla, wla ta kbaw how many casualities ato. Im not brave, i just did what we all should do, save ourselves first then call the proper authorities to do their job, thats why we pay the taxes for dba?

wow! 30 minutes man diay ang gidugayon sa tulis. surely kabaw gyud ang mga tulisan nga the police hotline is screwed. pero di ba naa man unta radio ang mga sikyu? they could have just radioed the police for help instead. di ba naa may police frequency? for 30 minutes, syaro wa cla ka huna2x ana. di man tanang sikyu gi ti-unan di ba?
