na unsa diay ang first episode? tell ushere sad beh...working people (at night) like us cant watch it gid...what happened? before i left the house saw....marrianne dela riva? was she? she was dead and philip screamed....

the first two episodes is not that bad. yeah, the rich Eden falling in love to poor boy Tristan is typical, but i dont think the main plot would revolve around it. now i understand why Heart Evangelista was choosen even if her being "chinita" because the story is like Panday in the modern world. i think the connection of the first episode to the main plot(of the series) is the lost child of Flavio, and that child could also be the one referred to bring Lizardo's life back.
good thing about Panday is the casting, casts were certified veterans of Philippine showbiz and kahibawo gyud unsay acting unlike the other series we see which seems only to be a collection of today's "pa-cute" stars. although i dont like Philip's acting so much, at least he almost paralleled the mannerism of the original Panday.
ang effects ok ra man sad, i just wonder why bloods seem to appear green instead of red? is it part of the story or they are avoiding the MTRCB thingy?
@estor_boot, esmeralde and flavio's child is a son-- as clearly stated by esmeralde when flavio and the villagers found her in the woods the night after the decoy attack on the church, "Flavio, our son! Our son!"
And the one referred to bring Lizardo back to life was clearly stated to be FEMALE by the leading henchdude with the scar across the face to have been quoted from the black book-- "Ang babaeng isinilang sa pagtakip sa araw ng buwan" or so along those words...
and the blood appear green because the ones slain including Lizardo himself are not human, they are demons or beings born of evil...
@jhiade, go to www.abs-cbn.com-- they have a synopsis per shown episode of the Panday....

Panday Episode 2 (11/10/05)
Tristan managed to dodge the balisong. After some maneuvering, Tristan disarms his opponent and eventually beats him. Mang Emong and the rest of Tristan’s buddies congratulate him. Boyet even remarks that he is like the komiks hero Panday. Suddenly they hear police sirens in the distance. Every one scrambles and runs for safety.
Eden was about to leave the parking lot when she realizes she forgot something inside the office. Thinking it was just a few steps away from the car, she goes back inside the office leaving the car door and window unlocked. Tristan on the other hand was desperate to find a hiding place with the police following his tracks. He runs near the parking lot office and luckily finds a car with an open window. The kargador jumps in, then hides in the backseat.
Getting the papers she left at the office, Eden returns to her car and starts the engine. She was shocked to find Tristan crouching in the back. He instructs her to start driving. When she hesitated, Tristan pleads with her to leave the pier. She then drives off. A few meters away from the pier, Tristan asks Eden to stop and let him off. When he gets down from the vehicle, Tristan apologizes to Eden and explained that he was just in a predicament because of the Beto-Beto match and that he is not really a criminal. Eden hotly retorted that she could have been involved in the skirmish and hurt. Both exchange words and Eden angrily leaves.
As he was about to walk back towards the pier, Tristan again bumps into the old man he saw at the pier. Puzzled by the old man’s actions he asks if the man was lost. The man only answers him “They have already met. The ones told by the prophecy.” Tristan just scratched his head and went on his way.
When Tristan arrives at his house Mang Emong was there waiting for him. His friend tells him that everyone thought he was caught by the authorities because no one could find him. Tristan relates to him that he was saved by an angel and proceeds to describe the girl. Mang Emong recognized the girl from Tristan’s description as Eden, the daughter of Mr. Roxas who owns the shipping office by the docks. He says that Eden has a reputation of being ‘mataray’ but if she helped Tristan escape then the perception they had of her was wrong. Tristan sheepishly admits to Mang Emong that he forced her to help him. Surprised by Tristan’s actions, Mang Emong tells him that he might get into more trouble if Eden tells on him.
Coming home late again, Eden’s mom scolds her and tells her that she has let them, her mom and dad, take over her responsibilities in preparing for her engagement party. She resentfully reminds them that they were the ones who wanted her to get married with Alfred, her fiancé. She tells them that it is only right because they had planned everything in her life including her marriage and she’s being a very dutiful daughter by obeying their wishes. Her dad tells her that they need Alfred’s family’s influence in the Middle East for their shipping business to prosper. He emphasizes that every thing that they have done are also for her future’s sake. Eden tells her parents that she feels nothing for Alfred. There is no romance between them. Her father scoffs and tells her that romance is just a state of mind.
Meanwhile, while Eden was contemplating all that her father has said, her fiancé Alfred arrives at a store. The store clerk nods at him in acknowledgement and he enters a door at the side. Alfred was greeted by a man wearing a turban and a gun. The man asks Alfred if he is ready. The young man replies he is ready to do anything for the group’s cause.
The next day, Tristan’s triumph in the Beto-Beto match was the talk of the employees at the shipping office. Eden hears her employees gossiping about Tristan, who was supposedly on a fighting hiatus. One of the clerks explain that the ‘kargador’ fought again because he was trying to help out Mang Emong. Eden comments that Tristan must be a good man.
At the docks, Mang Emong catches Tristan writing something on a piece of paper. He was about to ask Tristan to accompany him somewhere but changes his mind and tells Tristan his poetry is more important. Mang Emong asks some one else instead.
The sales clerks at the ticketing office tell Eden that Tristan is indeed a good man. In fact he might be the kindest ‘kargador’ in the whole pier. Eden remarks that if he is as handsome and kind hearted as they describe him, a lot of girls around the area must like him. The clerks agree and say it was a good thing someone helped him escape from the police. A girl apparently according to one of the employees gave the kargador a ride. The clerk adds maybe the girl who helped Tristan had a crush on him. Eden just smiled.
While Tristan was composing his thoughts, Boyet and some kids were playing on top of a containerized van. Their noise distracts Tristan and he tells them to keep it down. Suddenly Boyet slips and falls. Tristan rushes to the boy’s aide. Mang Emong and the other kargadors hear the commotion and they rush Boyet to the hospital.
Eden was about to leave the office when she drives by the panicking Mang Emong and Tristan. She stops the old man and asks what was going on. Mang Emong explains that Boyet had an accident and they have to get him to a hospital. Eden tells them to get in her car. Tristan hesitates but Mang Emong tells him they have to get help for Boyet immediately. The older kargador tells them to go ahead and that he will follow them to the hospital when he finds Boyet’s parents.
At the hospital, Boyet gets the treatment he needs. Eden was watching the boy sleep when Tristan entered the room. Tristan demands why Eden had to check them in an expensive room when they should be staying in a ward. He emphasizes that Boyet’s parents have no money to pay for such an extravagant room. Eden retorts that she has already told the nurses to have everything charged to her because she is only worried that Tristan might resort to street fighting again to find money to pay the hospital bills. Her answer takes Tristan aback.
The leader of the terrorist group comments that Alfred is hesitating. He angrily asks the young man if he is falling for Eden. Alfred denies all these and firmly states that he has not forgotten his mission. He tells the leader that when dies, the general and senator will die with him.
The young heiress asks Tristan how he can fight for money in something as cruel as Beto Beto. He tells her that Beto Beto is not just for money but also for gaining respect at the pier. Whoever is the strongest gets the people’s respect at the pier, that’s how life is with them. She questions him when the fighting will stop? When somebody dies? Tristan says no one has died in the fights yet. Eden again asks what if the one to die was you? The young man shakes his head and tells her that would be impossible. The young woman says that they may have gotten off on the wrong foot when they first met but she feels that Tristan is a good person. Eden further comments that he should not waste his life like that. Tristan smiles sheepishly which makes Eden wonder. He reveals that his departed parents also told him the same thing. Eden gets a call on her cellphone when Mang Emong arrives with news that Boyet’s parents are on their way. Eden excuses herself and says she has to leave because she was already late for her date with her boyfriend. Her statement took Mang Emong and Tristan by surprise. Eden adds that she’s already engaged and is about to be married.
During dinner, Alfred gives Eden her engagement ring with her parents as witnesses. Happy with their daughter’s official engagement, Eden’s mom asks Alfred when they are going to meet his parents. Alfred only tells them that they won’t be arriving at the engagement but will definitely be at the wedding.
Mang Emong drops Tristan at his house. He notices Tristan’s sullen mood and asks if he has a problem. The young man scoffs and tells him that he has none. Mang Emong teases him that he and Eden were happily talking when he got there and his mood changed when she mentioned that she has a boyfriend. He adds that Tristan can’t hide his feelings from him because he has known him since he was a small boy. Tristan’s only answer is how can someone rich and beautiful like Eden fall for him. He also tells Mang Emong that he is not ready to have a girlfriend because he can’t even take care of his life properly. What more if he has someone else to worry about. Mang Emong just reminds him that Eden is engaged.
The next day, Danica, a kakanin vendor at the pier arrives at the shipping office selling her goods. One of the clerks asks her to tone it down because Eden was in the room. Danica apologizes to Eden and tells her that it’s just her nature to be a very jolly person. The vendor then reminds that clerk of her promise that she knows someone she can supply kakanin to. Eden butts in their conversation and mentions that she knows someone who might need Danica’s services. She tells the girl to drop by after her engagement party and she will introduce Danica to her friend who is attending. The kakanin vendor squeals with delight and tells Eden and her clerk that they will have free kakanin the rest of their lives.
Outside the office, Danica gives the resting Tristan a bottle of cologne. Resisting the girl’s advances, Tristan tells Danica that he doesn’t need to smell good because he is a kargador after all. Danica still gives him the cologne and asks if she can do him a favor and drive her to a hotel that night because of business. Tristan reluctantly agrees.
Eden was late for her engagement party that night. High ranking government officials and businessmen were already present at the party. At the basement parking lot, Tristan and Danica arrive in a beat up Volkswagen. Tristan tells Danica to hurry up but the girl says they have to wait for the party to finish. She starts to tease Tristan again but he tells her to stop. She demands why he doesn’t like her. Tristan also said the same thing he told Mang Emong, that he is not ready to have a girlfriend. A car parks beside them, distracting the two. A young man alighted from the car. Both overhear the man’s conversation with the driver, about bombing the party and killing government officials. After the man leaves and the other car drove off, Danica hurriedly went out of the car. Tristan tells her she’s crazy and that they have to leave immediately. The girl reminds him of the reward for capturing terrorists on the news and runs off. Tristan thinks twice but eventually follows Danica.
Alfred arrives at the engagement party and was immediately introduced by Eden’s mom to Danica’s godfather, a Senator and another high ranking official, a general. Alfred cheerfully greeted everyone but excused himself right away to go to the rest room. Inside Alfred meets with an accomplice and straps the bombs on his body.
Before reaching the elevators, Tristan again bumps into Eden which takes the girl by surprise. He then proceeds to tell her not to attend her party anymore. She laughs but Tristan gets her attention when he tells her that there will be a bombing at the gathering. Eden insists that she must get to her parents despite Tristan’s warnings. He tries to stop her by blocking the elevators but she runs into the building stairwell. Tristan had no choice but to go with Eden.
Danica finally arrives at the celebration with the hotel security. The men inform the general of the situation and he immediately commands everybody to be evacuated. Alfred immerges from the restroom and Danica recognizes him and tells the hotel security that he was the one she overheard in the parking lot. Eden’s mom does not believe her but no one listened because of the panic in the evacuation. The SWAT arrived and managed to shoot Alfred in the arm but was forced to vacate the building because of the time restraints and they could not disarm the bomb. Eden arrives with Tristan at the function room with 7 seconds on the bomb strapped on Alfred’s body. Tristan pulls Eden into a run towards the windows. The bomb explodes.
