i sincerely dont agree that ATI support much better than 9600GT (nvidia) drivers

although ATI have open source drivers for linux, for some reasons they wanted open source community to contribute for the development ....

nvidia actually have more mature drivers for linux... and perform very well

and... ATI still dont have physics drivers ..... is Havoc already there yet?

Nvidia Physx is gaining support already and it's readily available with 8/9/GTX series.... and that's in the latest Nvidia drivers..

how many games take advantage of PhysX engine that Nvidia claims to be great? can you list 10? seriously the PhysX engine is way overrated and installs eitherway on your computer.

i think software PhysX is just as good, dead space and assassins creed seem to be fine, so is fall out 3

sometimes BASED ON EXPERIENCE my friends on Nvidia donot use the latest drivers because its buggy or doesnt handle a game very well, farcry 2 in their opinion. and well ATI comes out with quicker fixes and what not for such.

also Nvidia has a bad rep for failing chips Especially in laptop videos.

i think the HD 3850 = HD 4670 even with bigger bandwidth such as 256bit i dont think it makes much of a difference. i play everything on max on 1280x1024 reso and up and get awesome framerates between 50-80fps. hehe

unsa na games & unsa na card imong gamit? palihug daw post links/proof/etc besides kung 1280x1024 (17"?) 256mb should be more than enough..pag abot sa 19"-22" monitors dako na nag difference. so in short..depende ra gyud na sa usage nimo..pero if you have to ask plainly which is more powerful, HD3850 gyud over hd4670

you're right, they had bad chip yields on Laptops... do you play heavy games on a Laptop?

Sorry, I cant name you. you're right they are few.. but theyr coming eventually.. i heard NBA live already utilizes physx, unreal 3-engine-based games utilizes it.. etc..
ATI is developing theyr physics implemtation.. but they will have to catch up now..
and some hackers try to create software wrapper for Nvidia Physx to run on ATI cards, why is dat?
so you think software PhysX is just as good... just Disregard it... it's a bonus

Too bad if they're having problems with the drivers. there's a good reason why nvidia have WHQL driver versions (they are not always the latest ones)

ATI have good cards... theyr fast.. esp the 4870 X2... currentlt the fastest, hands down.
go buy ati, but i discourage the 3850, it will be beaten by a 9600GT.. go for 4xxx series instead
