Yeah, I agree that religion can be looked at as a sort of vehicle by which we can understand better the realities that exist beyond the material world. I believe that religion, at its best, can help us attain true freedom and happiness.

You may give if you want to, pero if dili ka ganahan or if ipit ka sa money then of course you don't have to give. Pero it's good man gud to give. It's good to share. And it doesn't go straight to the leaders of the ministry for them to use for personal reasons. It goes to the funds of the minstry itself, which it uses for its very practical needs.

Maybe you have in mind particular groups or denominations that are obviously out there for profit, more than their supposed mission of spreading the Good News.

take a look at gawad kalinga, for example. and they're not just Christians doing the work, there are also people from different faiths achieving something wonderful for our society.

that's a misconception, bro. it may be true for some organized religions. it's not all about taking people's money. it's a terrible caricature of Christianity. it's not all about mind control. faith is not necessarily unreasonable.
