you don't need to downgrade to play ISO games from your PSP3000. the only thing you need to do is buy the ISO from Playsation Store. viola!

Yeah, you can download game from the PSN store, it'll cost you but it's cheaper compared to the UMD. It's pure 100% legal though. It's just that the PSN store doesn't have that many game library compared to UMD as of right now. Maybe it'll be flooding with lots of titles soon especially the old ones. The only drawback is that Philippines isn't included as one of the country in the PSN store, so you'll have to register USA, Hong Kong, Japan, etc as part of your identification just to browse and buy. The Playstation Network is a good addition on the new firmware but I'm still not digging it due to limited game titles plus the newest games released on the PSN store like the new Need for Speed Undercover and FFA 09 costs you and they're selling the additional downloadable content for a certain amount of fee which IMO sucks. But then again, digitally downloadable games are cheaper compared to the UMD.

Again, as what others have said, PSP-3000 (aka PSP Brite) isn't downgradable as of the moment. Plus the PSP-3000 has interlacing issues on the new LCD screen. I'm not really sure how it looks like personally (just some pics on the internet) but people have already complained regarding this issue and it's the flawed design that did this meaning it's hardware related and can't be solved. But some also said it's barely noticeable. Anyway, either get the PSP-2000 (slim) or PSP-1000 (phat). Note, not all PSP-2000 (slim) are downgradable. A PSP-2000 which has TA-88v3 motherboard can't be downgraded. Everything else is downgradable except the aforementioned.
