    unsay religion anang Hitler?

    I consider Adolf Hitler as among the brilliant minds this world has ever produced. I admire him.

    All deeds have consequences, good or bad. And the greater their extent, the greater their influence or effect to future generations. After all, each is a hero of his own interest; the rest are just adversaries. To ultimately frown upon Hitler's name as well as his nature, history, achievements, and influence, without any room for appreciation and recognition is bias and sensational (add them both and you're now on the road to extreme nationalism and racism). Take note, Genghis Khan had even killed more people than Hitler but was he condemned?

    SUS!!!! i couldn't think of anything more to top this statement...Hitler happened for a reason but still people REMAIN to be narrow minded..and unfortunately superficial..in this modern day and age naa ghapoi mga little nazi germanys around the world waiting for the right catalyst to spark another war..unless we look back in the past with both eyes open and learn from it without hypocrisy superficial judgement..

    that's fair enough.

    but when people talk about hitler, the first thing that comes to my mind is the damage it did to the jews (that is, in general)...

    when i think about it, all i can only say is, "how biased of me! I totally overlooked WWII."

    people think less and less about it nowadays. it's just one emblem though.

    but then again, i'm no historian.

    Big difference between the two. Genghis Khan was after land, wealth, and power. He didn't go around saying "Let's kill all the chinks, the filthy creatures." Going with the same logic, I could probably also say that Harry S. Truman was a mass murderer right?

    Yes, in some ways, Hitler was brilliant. He was more than a rational thinker, but the ethos that guided him was so warped. Had he been wiser, he probably wouldn't have driven the Soviets back into the arms of Stalin, thus taking over Stalingrad and Russia in the end.

    As for the swastika, I just think it's insensitive to Jewish people, wearing it on your shirt and whatnot. But then again, I guess it's not that much of an issue here, being in Cebu and not having many Jews around. But yeah, it's sad that some folks still don't get the big lesson of the Holocaust. Racism is still rampant, and if given the opportunity to speak out, some believe a fascist government is what we need.

    ...and so the famous Aquinas' "The end justifies the means."

    Let me reiterate: "To each is a hero of his own interest; the rest are just adversaries." We are all adversaries of Hitler's intentions and great plan of rebuilding the Great Holy Roman Empire (3rd Reich of Germany) and sadly his methods were definitely inhuman. But to him and his followers then, he was a brilliant liberator and a skilled orator who spoke to them with sincerity. The quality that endeared him to his followers and his people should be the one we need to dig into instead of constantly celebrating the gory and wicked memories.

    Like Genghis Khan and Truman, Hitler is no different to them as with the likes of King Ferdinand II of Spain, Saladin, Pope Clement V, Pope Urban II, Julius Caesar, etc. Even with their infamous killings and destruction, their skills and geniuses have been studied and carefully understood so the future generation can make better use of 'em.

    @jashville

    that's basically the thing..we automatically think of the popular negative things that happened to the war..and one of the reasons why most people think that way is because they don't know a thing about it..just the surface..well im not asking that all of us be WWII historians..pero in my opinion the people who died during the war either as a civilian or as a military fighter doesn't want the war to be remembered the way we remember it today..my point is i just wish people will grow more mature in understanding the last war..kai if not it'll come back again this time the jews will be the christians and the nazis will the muslims..with a more ruthless "hitler" for a leader and a much deeper reason to kill (Jihad)...Enter WWIII.....great *sigh*

    @diatabz

    that was hitler's first agenda..the unification of all germanic states pero he crossed the line when he invaded the non-german speaking Czech and Polish people..and as for the insult to the jews well i won't argue with that pero if the swastika is an insult to the jews then during that time the Versailles Treaty was also an insult to the germans..and if people who doesn't want to let go of the hate then the jews have become what they have hated the most...it may sound idealistic pero it's worth a shot.

    @maynard

    sakto ka bro..no matter how bloody or whatever negative things that have transpired during that time people today are reaping the benefits..there's a lot to learn either for good or for evil..and most of the juicy stuff are to be learned from the germans..

    i beg to disagree that the swastika is a symbol of racism and/or the nazis. what the nazis took as a symbol is an inverted or a flipped over image of the true swastika.

    i am a member of a Society that has a swastika included in our logo. and i'm not a racist. and i'm definitely not a nazi.

    Buddhism Dictionary: swastika

    (Sanskrit, svastika). An ancient sign said to be of solar origin and signifying good luck. The sign may be Neolithic and is found world-wide. Its Indian name comes from Sanskrit ‘sv-asti’ meaning good fortune, luck, or success. The swastika is a cross with the extremities of each arm bent at right angles. It is used as an auspicious mark on images or structures, and is often found on the chest, palms, or soles of the feet of Buddhas and Jinas. It is also used in the earliest Buddhist art which does not represent the Buddha in human form.

    i second the motion. As a matter of fact, if you take a visit to the Phu Sian Temple near Beverly Hills Subdivision, the Buddhist Temple Pureland Chen Buddhist tradition is adorned with Svastikas.
