cutting such privileges on "newbies" will not really solve the problem... here's what I suggest:

*Upgrading Rank will be the Administrator's/Moderator's prerogative - then newbies will be aware that they are being watched.Â* Everything they do here (posting topics and PM's) will be evaluated (by the Admin and Mods), and if they pass, then they will be upgraded. Members should always understand not to trust newbies so newbies will have to earn respect from old members.

*Member registration will be done thru email activation - that means, no bogus email addresses. If this in effect right now, then good.

*A little karma on the side will help Admin's and Mod's evaluate each and every newbie's eperformance.

*Old members should help report any bugos transactions they knew or experienced.

we really can't eradicate rats on the net, will try to minimize them...

The bottomline of this topic i suppose is on how to protect the good image and reputation of our BS board. If the reported transaction problems and spams continue to increase in here, there will come a time that many would lost their trust in trading here.

Its just a matter of gaining and losing trust.

A simple istorya.net disclaimer can be a perfect shortcut but will not totally resolve the issue. Though istorya.net "must" not be held liable for any transaction fraud, taking such things for granted is a different story. This is the reason why Beor created this topic in the very first place.

On the aspect of membership and registration, i agree on that. Through this, istorya.net will have an official member's list complete with all contact infos. Even the sketch of residence if possible. Please take note everyone that doing this would require manpower so expect a fee. Maybe we can come up with a membership team who would process this. The moderators and administrators shall decide on how much. I suggest there would be a level of membership. each level has a different access rights and a different fee as well. I believe if all of you are loyal here, this requirement won't mean a lot for you. Through this, we not only protect the member's welfare but also we contribute to the growth and improvement of istorya.net and us istoryans as a whole.

Just wanna suggest on your post n'gel, "Kung naa man gani problema ma encounter ba ron ang buyer sa usa ka seller, Istorya will provide him with legit info about the seller". Only you site keepers and admins should release the info of members and should only be released if badly needed, otherwise privacy and confidentiality will be breached.

As for the "Upgrading Rank will be the Administrator's/Moderator's prerogative" being suggested by diaryman, i believe the mods and admins are watching over us. But with thousands of members, man!! it aint easy!

If the MATURE DISCUSSIONS thread is being regulated then I think the more the BUY AND SELL Forum should be regulated too...

I think the requirement should be through an application with all the information (contact number, address, etc..) This is to protect both the buyers and sellers too....

A lot of incidents have happened in the Buy and Sell Forum already:

1.) There once was this newbie who threatened a seller.... Nanghambog siya nga member siya ug Frat.. If I remember it right, the thread was closed by Vern.

2.) There's this seller who was selling pirated Microsoft XPs and right now he's in jail..

3.) There's this another seller nga "nangilad" daw... You can read more of him in the Buy and Sell Feedback...

    And a lot more!

Ako pod, daghan na jud kaayo ko ug na deal nga puros walay klaro and all of them are newbies...

what if naa specific group of "moderators" for buy and sell and only for b&s.

like if ever naa newbie na ganahan mu sell sa ila goods, mu contact sa sila ana nila and so they can verify the info about that person and give them access to post on the forum...

just a suggestion. i just registered yesterday, so that makes me a newbie

naa man siguro adlaw na magkita-kita ang tanan members diri sa? why dont make that day also for the buyers and sellers to meet along with the stuff the sellers to sell? although i dunno how many times are the gathering here for one month.

this is just one minds opinion.

just putting a disclaimer will do... safe protection against reputation of this site
    +
continues monitoring on all threads that is one way of preventing fraud from some posted thread..
wala man sad mangingilad kung walay mag pailad... why blame this site? if you just include it on your
terms and disclaimer.. dili na na sala ninyo if ala cla read the terms and disclaimer...

im a newbie who posts in the buy and sell portion.. im not really a fan of posting in some of the forums area but dont you think that its good enough that they recognize the site as a place that can help them in their business?

when i first posted my stuff over the buy/trade/sell portion, people noticed more of my online shop and it did help in my sales..
i hope you wont take this "previlage" out of the newbies..

i one registers to these forum websites they should participate as well in other topics but what if they dont have enough time to check on other posts?!

i hope you wont take that away to the newbies..
