i remembered that day in Abellana. But ana man jud na sometimes u win some and sometimes u lost some. but in that day Jun won it all and in the process gained the respect of JKA members whom he competed with. That was an eye opener. but again it doesnt mean that JKA is inferior. I happen to belong to the same group of sensei jun but we difintly have nothing to gripe against JKA members. We respect them a lot and we have lots of good acquaintances from that group. Importante lang is that we have to maintain the proper perspective. JKA might have initiated the movement of propagating Karate but they dont have the monopoly of Karate, no group does. And this is what is good about Karate. It might have originated from the Japanese ( Okinawans) but it has become universally practiced and enjoyed by peoples around the world. Ane by the way, we likewise adhere stricktly to the Dojo Kun and the Precepts of Karate Training. We also understand that Kime defines authentic Karate skill. And that Kihon, Kata and Kumite are the essential components of Shotokan. Yes there is JKA, but there is also SKO, AAK, and other groups espousing the ideals of Shotokan Karate. Let us leave it at that. What matters most is that we train with the proper spirit... ossu!

the 19th WKF World Karatedo Championships ( the biggest karatedo event ) has recently started in. This time Tokyo , Japan plays host to this magnanimous event in its famed Budokan. But sadly, for the 2nd time in a row, the Philippines isnt sending a team. What happened to PKF? When PKF was first established by Shihan Veguillas in 1986, the Philippines has constantly participated in each world championships. But when the so called self righteous individuals took ever the running of PKF, the performances of our Karatedo athletes have miserably diminished. And this is the culmination of it all. Wala tay team. even in SEA Games where we used to be the powerhouse, wala na. and worse, PKF has placed mr. go teng kok ( a non karateka ) as its president. Afghanistan is better than us coz theyre able to send players to this event. what a pity! PKF should start getting their acts together. Let AAK and the others organizations that you " kicked out" be part of the competitions so that the best of the best is known. POC is calling the PKF not to be devisive. PKF should start to learn to listen to people who might have different ideas and views. This is the only way to bring back the glory of competitive karate back in the Philippines..

I am a member of a shotokan club and i admit i was 6 years old when i started karate in JKA. putol putol ang akong practice... cge pd ko usab2 ug organization. Cge ra ko sunod sa akong Tiyo kung unsa organization niya. Now separated nami sa JKA. We have our own club pero here near in lawaan wa jd mi area for practice. Kinsa ganahan dha mo practice nga naa lugar? till now I have my instructor c shihan victor oftentimes one on one jud mi. Pero kung naay mo apil welcome ra ghapon.

Kina mana resulta sa kahambogero sa mga karatesta. Pakauwaw na lang karate karon! Tanawa na mixed martial arts karon nga sa ona katawan lang sa mga karatesta! Sikat na kaayo, kamo mag tournament mo, kataw-an lang mo sa mga manan-aw nga walay alamag sa karate. Pkauwaw na man na karate karon. Pero dinhi ra man na sa atoa kay naa man daghan hakog kaayo og pasikat lang gosto nga bsag dili angay pa dag-on pada ogon gyod. Naay daghan boang nga instructors ron sa karate nga pasikat ra gosto nya wala gyod ka tabang sa improvement pareho anang ilaga og nawng nga instructor sa consolacion. Ilagang pawt, padako2x konohay balolang kaayog istodyante kay balolang kaayog otok!

I would like to see pure karatekas fight against mixed martial artist in one tournament. Baga challenge ba if maayo ba gyod ni mga karatesta. Mixed Martial Artist group versus JKA group. Mixed Martial Artist Group Vs. SKA group. Ingon ana ba. Nya knock out tournament gyud. Nya karatesta must use pure karate techniques. Tanawon unsa pa kaha hambog sa karate karon. Labaw na na ang grupo anang ilaga nga instructor sa consolacion... gusto ko kita ilang grupo mo away versus mixed martial artist.

dont generalize bai, not because naay kay nakita nga ilaga nga opao sa consolacion imo na laiton tanan practitioners sa karate. im practicing it myslf for purely fun and health i gained from it, aside from the fact nga naa sad ka ma-learn nga mga right attitudes.. mura na siya ug relihiyon, ang imo nakita culto na, wahehehehe...
