Looks great. I've dealt with systems used by thousands of users on servers that run Debian/NetBSD. User workstations are another thing however.

How about the learning curve with using the OS? Current applications? Did you make some special programs just to make those apps or reports to work linux?

This could be a good example of linux deployment at large scale for end users. Unlike tech guys, end users tends to resist those kind of changes, specially if they are used to M$. It's always a challenge to implement something that affects the way users do their daily task.

    Congrats!

In our comapny we did'nt make any adjustments for the users. The users had to learn (more like forced to learn) how to use Ubuntu 6.06.1 by themselves. It took only a month for our users to learn how to use Ubuntu.

As for apps no extra apps were used since the only thing our users used was Open Office, Firefox & Evolution.

What's SID? Just curious since I'm only a Linux newbie.

EDIT: I googled it a bit, and came up with this:

    Spoiler: http://www.biznix.org/whylinux/windows/

    Linux has no SIDs
Cloning Windows systems is made more difficult by the SID (system identifier) that must be unique between machines. With Windows XP and its hardware-based licensing scheme, cloning systems becomes not only very difficult but illegal - according to Microsoft's licensing terms.
Linux has no need for system identifiers. Each Linux machine is distinguished by its name and IP address. Both of these are easily modified and require no rebooting. Cloning Linux systems is dead simple.
