laser printing can give tremendous number of printouts in one toner but i doubt it can overcome the savings of an inkjet coupled with ciss in accordance to the cost of consumables you shall buy. specially when color photo-lab quality printing comes in.
bubble jet is Canon's tradename to its inkjet printers which produce a tiny explosion in a microscopic chamber(nozzles) to form a bubble that drives forward a droplet of ink.
and as per Epson's, they use piezo electric heads.
