Katong mahilig sa chess here's some updates. Viswanathan Anand (India) retains his title against the younger and former world champion Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) in a best-of-twelve game held in Bonn Germany three weeks ago.
Openings used were mostly Queen's Gambit with some transpositions to a more aggressive Nimzo-Indian in which both scored a point. On the defence side, Anand and Kramnik played Slav in two of the 12-game series and concluded it with a draw (1/2, 1/2) on Sicilian Defence (Najdorf) on Game 11 which advanced the lead of Anand to successfully defend his title scoring 6 and 1/2 over Kramnik with just 4 and 1/2 (Game 12 was declared unnecessary).
