I am trying to make peace here with Cebu peeps tapos attack mode na man pud ka diha.... try to read my post above yours and comprehend what message I am trying to tell the people in this forum. I mean this:

Yah i got ur point bro. katung sa thread na - Cagayan de Oro: The PREMIERE City in Mindanao, wala may ni support atu, instead mga tao from CDO ni supak sa thread starter. but kani na thread which is DAVAO THE BEST CITY IN RP, daghan man gud ni support from Davao mao ni start ug conflict between Cebu and Davao.

addressing inaccurate opinions or repelling malicious comments? how about making Davao the best city in RP, isnt it inaccurate? just my thought, dont be offended. Cebu or Manila doesnt need to prove kung unsa sila ka booming, while ang Davao ga boom pa lang so mao sikat sila pirmi sa mga pahayagan. BUT, honestly ha, Davao is nice but compare to Cebu lang not Manila i believe mas okey sa Cebu. Ma threatened man gani ang Davao i compare sa CDO na perting gamaya how much more sa Cebu or Manila.

Anybody can state opinion what is best for them. If someone said Cebu is best for them no probs that's understandable. However, beyond mere opinions there should be factual basis to it and again that basis is according to a common criteria (for the meantime kani muna nga basis due to the complexity and broadness of the issue).

If I base myself on my criteria of what makes a best city, it should have the facilities and ambiance of a bustling metropolis BUT at the same time ensure that it meet the standards for quality living such as cleanliness, order, peacefulness, recreation and services, opportunity AND (perhaps this may even be the most important) it is responsible enough to preserve and nurture and be good stewards to the environment in this fragile planet, hence making at a viable candidate as a city of the future ready for the challenges of the new millennium. A city that disregards its responsibility to the environment cannot be entitled to such and may even be a threat to the planet.

If ang basis lang of being a 'best' city are highrises, flyovers, population density, then Manila is it but it's too supeficial and one thing's sure Cebu and Davao will not agree that it is so with all its smog, pollution, corruption, etc. Between Cebu and Davao pud they have what it takes including access to recreational spots like nearby beaches and tourist spots.

However my criteria and standards does not stop there alone. Foremost I consider the subtle, yet influential aspect of a city sometimes overlooked by conventional perspective. My critieria for the best city should be CLEAN, orderly, peaceful with LESS CRIME expected of large cities, CULTURE, and good STEWARDS to the environment, a prime ingredient if we are to true model cities of the future. With these categories I will undeniably chose Davao over Cebu.

Whatever would be the agenda of the thread starter, it does not matter. By my criteria and standards on what a best city should be, Davao accurately emerges, amazingly even for a fact the Davao is yet an emerging metropolis but with a promising future ahead, if she remains vigilant and nurturing towards balanced development.

So then, we may have common ground as to what standards and criteria a best city should be, and I have stated my version.

BTW.... nag start lang ko ug participate aning thread tungod kay naay sigig ingon BOMB prone ang Davao which is not true.... defend lang kay misinformation ang ginahimo sa poster.... just wanted to make it clear na thats a mere scheme to win an argument by telling lies. Davao is a very peaceful place.... wala kay dapat ika hadlok. Hi-tech among security measures diri kung ka kita lang ka.

Well, thanks for your opinion. okey, i will disregard the thread starter as he concluded that Davao is the best city in RP. everyone has its own right to make their city the best. i am from CDO, and i can say CDO isnt the best but better. but if ever i may chose between Davao and Cebu, probably i will chose Cebu not because i am working here but because Cebu is in between - not too crowded compared to Manila but it has high rise buildings, lots of opportunities, etc. maybe not too clean compared to Davao but probably cleaner than Manila. So, i may chose Cebu over Davao, she is in between - the queen city of the south.

Those high rises will come later.... what's important is sustainable development that can span for many generations. A land that is taken cared of by dwellers and not raping it till dry......

Kung kabalo lang ka unsa ka environment conscious ang mga tao diri..... ready mo sacrifice ug dagkung investment para lang ma maintain ang balance sa ecology. Duda gani naku mao nang reason nganung gi set aside sa ang pag himo ug Davao-Samal bridge kay dili pa ka supports ang infra sa Samal. Planning is very important observing/studying others what went right or wrong to theirs so that right here it will be perfect.
