To the noble Cebuanos who are civilized and respectful in their postings and open minded to discussions that otherwise would make both cities complement each other to strive to be better, I give them due respect.

Kanang mga kagwang dinha nga bastos dili man lang karespeto sa mga panghitabo sa isigkatao and murag ugok mag-generalize kung unsa nahitabo balikbalikon pa ang dapat makalimtan alang-alang sa mga nabiktima, they will not deserve respect. Gapaila unsang klase sila. I hope other Cebuanos would be responsible in reprimanding them because if other people will do so it will not be gentle. And they cannot help but drag down Cebu with their stupidity.

Those are your opinions. Great for Cebu being the Queen City of the South and that's even admirable. However other people also have opinion. Take for instance the expat community jaded in their travels who have finally discovered what Davao is and strongly endorsed her the title "Crown City of the Philippines".

Or hear the comment of this other expat after visiting many places in the country and around the world:

    Well, I still like Cebu.

BUT, DAMN, I'm in Davao now and this is a damn cool city! It was recently ranked as one of the best cities of southeast asia for living, and now I really believe that.

It's about twice as big as Cebu for one, and Davao is an incredibly safe city. If you take taxis from major hotels, the airport, the casino or wherever, someone writes down the numbers on a slip of paper to report the driver if any problem whatsoever. Every driver gives me my exact change back everytime as well.

They also built a park called 'the People's Park' which is definetely one of the cooler urban city parks I've ever seen in quite awhile. Absolutely amazing at nighttime. All lit up, and you go through a couple guards to get into this city park, which basically eliminates all the riff-raff.

Bars and restaurants are all over the place in Davao, of all kinds of different scales. I don't find the in-your-face *** like Manila or Cebu, but Davao like all cities in the Philippines has that too I'm sure, it's just a relief to see a lot of normality everywhere which predominates everything instead.

Pasensya na, dili unta nako iapil title sa thread sa expat kay being a foreigner pranka kaayo, but naka default man diay sa link. So hopefully more sensible Cebuano's would take his opinion constructively and do more effort to impress visitors like him for the betterment not only of Davao but also Cebu.

So, you may have your opinions, but obviously others have also, and they don't have to throw mud at other places but are far more sophisticated than your styles.

so you don't like mountains, sigh, you will get sharp stares with more civilized nature lovers with your display of blatant ignorance. Allow me to share you a famous quote by William Blake:

"Great things are done when men and mountains meet, it is not done by jostling in the streets."

Maybe you don't understand what that means, not surprising buloy man pud inyong comment ganahan pa mambastos sa mga biktima. Hopefully you get a lesson or two with your arrogance and insult to the victims. I wish I could say the same thing with your posts that I had learned some valuable tips, but unfortunately such is not the case except it's just another typical term called "dumb one-liner comment". More effort to you, you both badly need it.

In fact the local water district here (awarded Asia's best) was able to pinpoint the possible problem of water source 50 years ahead of critical level. The mayor implemented basic quality services when others criticized him for not putting much attention on investments. They were narrowminded and they were wrong. The Mayor responsbily addressed the basic services to be at par with the world's best such as the computerized traffic signalization system (won a US award) that drastically reduced motor accidents in the city; the 911 emergency hotline (3rd only to US and Canada) following international standards replete with its own ambulance, k-9, etc. where you can call 911 24/7 through your cellphone for FREE; the Task force Davao continually keeping Davao's boundaries and environs safe; the modernization of medical facilities; the allocation for resettlement sites to address the squatter problems typical of large citries; modern waste management systems replete with efficient garbage trucks and quality garbage bins similar to other international cities and making Davao among the cleanest city in highly urbanized category. The narrowminded critics were proven wrong as investors finally saw the potential and willingly invested in Davao city making her the most competitive in the country.

Even investments are responsibly addressed as Ayala had to go careful proceedings especially addressing the traffic and flood control in the area before they were approved. Filinvest project above the watershed area was refused reclassification of the low density residential in its location responsibly giving more priority to the water protection of the city. Davao is a large, fast growing city minus the probems like dirtiness, heavy traffic, crime, dwindling resources experienced by other major cities in the country, attesting the strong responsibility accorded by Dabawenyos to their city. So anyway thanks for your suggestion about responsibility as you seem not so sure about how things are being done here compared to yours, but Davao already implemented such long before you even thought about it, and continually keep vigilance on it as always.

    Very well said!
By the way you set things, you already sound like "nag-aalsa ng sariling bangko". Like i said, Davao is emerging. But nothing good that man made is lasting. ika nga sa kasabihan: There is nothing permanent in the world except CHANGE. The regality and praises might be there alright, but resources are not always there forever to help. There would always be greed and power who'll roam on what is abundant for now. Pray lang ko, it's not you who'll destroy yourself in the end. hehehe
