Now that Davao is EMERGING as a known city after some time, it would be a welcome news for a friendly competition. After Davao takes the place of Cebu in that category, Cebu would have also been placed on the next level of ranking lists. Ika nga sa saying: "Good things, comes to those who wait" Let's just see in the near future what Cebu can offer next.

why man masuko people from CDO ana na claim nila, it is true naman Davao is a very booming city and as what they have said, they showed proof and facts. CDO people wont be envious about this, because people from Mindanao do look up to Davao City. No one from CDO is mad about Davao. Some people just make an issue. BUT then again, if Davao is the best city in RP, that i couldnt agree wherein tall buildings and enormous projects wont be the basis of becoming the best city in RP. just my thought.

Obviously that may not sound good to some envious Filipinos as this country is known for odious crab mentality attitudes. That's Davao so either take it or leave it. It will be very, very, very fine with people here that the envious and intrigeras need not come to Davao just to look and criticize for her fragile points. We would rather prefer quality visitors who could be trusted and honest enough to admire her beauty as we don't want our place to be overcrowded, the envious characters together with the criminals are the least priorities to come to Davao. As for the good ones willing to appreciate what Davao can offer and make also help make her a better place, welcome.
But with great changes in the city comes greater responsibilities. You cannot possibly say that life thereafter in Davao would still be the same, ten years after it made its mark and after the establishments are put up. Beauty is not forever as most would say, and i don't think you would only lure visitors who are admirers of its beauty and charm. There would always be an opposite to good who would always tag along and come in. Overcrowding and criminals not coming in in the soonest possible time? I doubt it. Great development comes in with great crimes, poverty, corruption and dependence. Don't be too sure about it

Di' nako masabtan imo pasabot ani pero para sa akoa kung Best City in terms of buildings and infras, Makati ang best next ang Cebu. Davao sa pagkakaron, I like it the way it is, not so dense and people are a-okay whenever I'm there, paminsar nako bisan asa ko baktas-baktas di' ko pangulbaan ug mabalaka.

Ambot ug unsa klase nga best city pasabot sa thread starter ana kay wala man nako basaha iya post kay kapoy basa.

Kadtong sa pikas sa inyoha nga 'PREMIERE', unsa man pasabot ana? Dunay first showing o sinesine diha sa CDO karon? Gusto ko tan-aw ana ba basin blockbuster movie diay na...

Yes, FYI Davao knows about responsibilities. In fact the local water district here (awarded Asia's best) was able to pinpoint the possible problem of water source 50 years ahead of critical level. The mayor implemented basic quality services when others criticized him for not putting much attention on investments. They were narrowminded and they were wrong. The Mayor responsbily addressed the basic services to be at par with the world's best such as the computerized traffic signalization system (won a US award) that drastically reduced motor accidents in the city; the 911 emergency hotline (3rd only to US and Canada) following international standards replete with its own ambulance, k-9, etc. where you can call 911 24/7 through your cellphone for FREE; the Task force Davao continually keeping Davao's boundaries and environs safe; the modernization of medical facilities; the allocation for resettlement sites to address the squatter problems typical of large citries; modern waste management systems replete with efficient garbage trucks and quality garbage bins similar to other international cities and making Davao among the cleanest city in highly urbanized category. The narrowminded critics were proven wrong as investors finally saw the potential and willingly invested in Davao city making her the most competitive in the country.

Even investments are responsibly addressed as Ayala had to go careful proceedings especially addressing the traffic and flood control in the area before they were approved. Filinvest project above the watershed area was refused reclassification of the low density residential in its location responsibly giving more priority to the water protection of the city. Davao is a large, fast growing city minus the probems like dirtiness, heavy traffic, crime, dwindling resources experienced by other major cities in the country, attesting the strong responsibility accorded by Dabawenyos to their city. So anyway thanks for your suggestion about responsibility as you seem not so sure about how things are being done here compared to yours, but Davao already implemented such long before you even thought about it, and continually keep vigilance on it as always.
