In addition, these latest games are expensive.
Playing these games at medium or lower settings and lower resolutions
just don't bring justice to the price you are paying.
Call of Duty 4 for example cost more than 1.5k.

So its a waste of money not being able to enjoy all goodies and the eye candy of the game.

    Pirates are not included.

very well said... imagine having these games: Crysis, Crysis:Warhead, StarCraft II, Call of Duty 4 & 5, Call of Juarez, Supreme Commander, Oblivion, and more. then, you have a vcard, a GF 8400GS. now, considering you paid say 10K for all these games, would a 1.2K IGP upgrade give your games justice?

    (just for kicks: )

if i'll be playing games at 8-9FPS, i'd rather not play at ALL. possibly HIGH? haha. let a GF 8500GT run Crysis at HIGH settings, at the lowest reso, you get around 8-9FPS. how would the 8400GS do? 3FPS? hm, 3FPS seems a very nice gaming experience. lol.
i didnt know all the latest games is crysis... how can crysis be a bench mark for you enjoying games? even the high end latest cards have a hard enough time with crysis

    cheers
sub 1k cards expand on the intergrated graphics and allow for HDMI dual DVI or even HD/ blue ray viewing, and were not really intended for gaming BUT doesnt mean that its not playable

True but not all gamers are into eye candy, e.g warcraft III when some people play dota i see them turn it down even with the dedicated graphics card.

    different strokes for different folks.

i enjoy med to high settings on games. i dont play on 1600x1200 reso with 16AA and 32AF! some peoples benchmarks are way too unreasonable imo

if call of duty 4 can play on an internet cafe 1050x Radeon (f.y.i lower than 8400gs) at an average of 40-60fps im sure the person with an 8400gs can. and its a dedicated card not an IGP.

thats why PC games have a vast number of settings, play around with the settings till you hit the sweet spot..

    possibly
turn off AA, lower resolution, do shadows need to be that high

you people treat PC games like console games, OMG! you dont have a awesome graphics card! stop wasting your time! pffff useless. get a better card.. <<< does that even sound remotely helpful to the guy

if u noticed PC games have VAST amount of settings menu for video and as such can be adjustable to the hardware and the person's taste. personally i prefer medium to high.
console games cant adjust such graphics settings like PC's and thats a 1up for us. there are more games that you failed to mention

    command and conquer tiberium wars
    half life 2
    company of heroes
    world in conflict
    dawn of war soul storm
    counter strike source
    half life 2 episode 1 and 2

fyi starcraft 2 and red alert 3 will be the most flexible when it comes to requirements.

    oh check this out too
crysis on 8400gs with 256mb of ram

i didn't say that. could you state the part where i said "ALL THE LATEST GAMES IS CRYSIS"?, for i might be mistaken. who knows. i just jumped off the idea of "POSSIBLY PLAYING THE LATEST GAMES (might include Crysis) IN HIGH SETTINGS"

again, 800x600 noAA noAF is nothing to be excited about, might as well play CS. and oh, i never said that the 8400GS is an IGP. i said a 1.2K IGP upgrade, meaning, upgrading from the IGP with something @ 1.2K.

Bro pareho mo naay point kaya lang not all can afford man gud sa mga high end GPU maglisod man gani tag palit ug branded casing unsa na kaha nang VCARD nga mahal.

Ako pastante na kaayo ni akong 8500GT coz Im not gamers man, if mag play man gani ko NFS2, CS1.6-7, WC, SC-BW etc..sa mga new games wala nako ana.

Ako lang nindot ug performance and clarity labi na sa mga graphics. Ni palit lang ko ug VC even naa koy builtin VC kay di ko gusto ma sacrifice akong RAM. Unya na next year if ma swertian ta mag assemble kog high end jud na PC, else I buy MAC.

running the game and actually having a gaming experience are two different things. well, that's from a gamer's point of view though. XD

cheers, stay in your cute little world, where everyone plays at pokemon red or mario. XD

comment lng ko ha, hope you wont mind. afaik crysis warhead is built on the same engine as the original crysis, same gameplay, graphics etc..story ray nausab. and hangtod karon there isn't anything that can run the original crysis at decent framerates at its highest settings & resolution, be it skulltrail, tri-sli or quad-xfire
