hinoon. mas later ang generation, mas daghan najud ang influences. power, technique, tricks, portnoy. pro ari ghapon ko neil peart ug beauty lng sa drum solos. nawa na iya 'o baterista'. nindut jud kau pagkabuhat/plano. very clever. d jud ko ma boringan bsan balik balikon. hinoon, kuyaw sad kaau si portnoy, idol kaau iyang drumming sa 'when d water breaks' sa liquid tension. hall of famer sad ang buang.

akong kaila dream theater tirada sa una (portnoy) pero karon love songs.. hahahahaha

as for morbid angel, more on speed man sila, they rely on prowess and stamina. pero compare nimo ni portnoy, layo ra kaayo in terms of complexity and techniques.

i say neil peart!!! i grew up listening to rush its too bad there aren't any bands just like them these days.

I've been listening to Rush since 1992 and Dream Theater since 1995. I'd say it's a no win comparison. Both have INCREDIBLE skill, power, diversity, and technically having all the aspects a great drummer should have.

Dream Theater is still currently my favorite band. But I must say, and as what EZRA posted, Portnoy overplays on some of DT's songs.

My vote goes to Neil Peart.

They're still around....
And there's MARS VOLTA .... sa mga batan-on lang nga Prog, mao ni akong pinaka ganahan.
