i also have creative sound blaster 5.1 soundcard and im using 64 -bit vista. SB5.1 has no drivers for vista and creative dont have plans making drivers for it..

their soundcards are good and useful for in-house dj's though. their products worked perfectly when i competed in the school dj mixing.

that was when i was using windows xp.

I own a creative x-fi extreme music ( bought it 3++ yrs ago ) and im very aware of this issue,

I personally no problems under XP and only minimal problems in vista (in games that dont support OpenAL , and i wanted to use HW acceleration)

As reported Daniel_K made solid,better and stable drivers for vista and XP.. dunno why creative is so fired up about it, i mean cmon sure theres a license agreement that you cant modify the software, but this person is actually making creatives work a lot easier and they threaten him ?

Hmmmmm.. Creative Sound Blaster paman to ako sa una panahon pa sa Windows 3.1, Until now mo tingog paman nice man ug sound quality ang speakers nila and also the sound card. Pero mga speaker ron lata man ug tingog hahahaha. "di na tinood kay ang bakonawa gikan sa china!"

frankly, I only used built in audios. For Movies I use the boards optical or coaxial out

Why would you need to petition to not buy their products? ... just don't buy it. I haven't had a Creative product since Sound Blaster 16.
