I am quite new to the DSLR realm. I researched a lot before I bought my first DSLR camera that would fit my needs (as a hobbyist) and budget (of course).

I understand Canon and Nikon are the top two contenders in DSLR. What do you exactly mean when you say "wala ka apas ang nikon sa canon in the digital age"? What does Canon have that Nikon cannot do?

What does these two brands have that other DSLR brands are not capable of? This is where I get lost in the DSLR brand war. I would really appreciate if someone can explain it to me than just bluntly saying Brand X is better than Brand Y.

IMHO, The only obvious reason why these CANON and NIKON are top contenders is because they are pretty good at marketing and they pretty much captured the DSLR niche in the market. Technology-wise there is very little difference between them and the other DSLR's like Sony, Pentax, Samsung, Olympus, etc.

@iamweasel: don't take some of the folks here seriously, some of us are just teasing each other about each brand being good or bad. i'm really a canon user, i'm just being sarcastic when i said the canon 5d mk ii is bad. hehehe
