As an amateur astronomer, I am capable enough to sift through the agendas and assess what's going on--I'm on nobody's "side" here, but I do know the earth as a planet is in trouble, and part of that trouble has something to do with humanity's incessant desire for MORE of everything. Enough said.

Fine. But I think you need to sift more through those data mr. astronomer because you need to check your references who caused you to believed that the planet is in trouble. Mind you, we are only a grain of sand for the planet Earth to cause her trouble. If you would have said the other way around, I would have believed you.

And I would've been also considerate of your remarks if it weren't for your blatant arrogance. "Mr. Astronomer"? Galing mo manlait chong. Bravo.

i don't need to support any political agendas in order to do my part. let's go back to the topic.

    everyday is earth day

recyle --separate paper, cardboard, plastics and cans from stuff that will rot like food left-overs & fruit & vegetable peels. doing so does wonders for your garbage because only a smaller batch will stink (hopefully you have a small area where you can bury it. or someone comes around to collect it). if you don't have actual avenues to sell the recyclables, at least the garbage guys have an easier time sorting through them

reduce --reduce consumption. this can be done on many levels. turn off & unplug electronics when not in use. check that your faucets & showers don't leak. refuse excessive packaging. bring your own bags when doing the groceries/shopping. buy (recyclable) bottles instead of sachets.

re-use --check out your closet. there's probably a lot of things in there you've forgotten about. use them. or give them to charity. re-use shopping bags.
