The description of XXL here implies that our dog, Summer belongs to the large breed dog family...and that he is bigger than the usual dogs. Its just a matter of personal preference whether you want a puppy/dog/stud who is bigger, normal or smaller than usual. As with all other dogs, there are over-sized or above average sized dogs. Summer measures 23 1/2 inches from the highest point on his back, the ridge between his shoulder blades.

An example would be the German Shepherd. Some are naturally tall & heavy boned, while some are shorter and less solid. In any case, they are both beautiful dogs. I for one, would find a bigger GSD nicer rather than a shorter one. Its just my personal taste.

Though we never stepped into the show ring, it doesn't make our dogs any less beautiful nor inferior. We take serious care in our dogs to ensure their optimum health, beauty, obedience and temperament comes first. That was one of the reasons why we transferred to another place so that they'd have more space to run. People who met us, saw our dogs, bought our previous puppies & had their dogs mated can all attest to that.

For those asking if we have puppies (we get a lot of inquiries), our female golden retriever is on a 2-year break because she had a difficult pregnancy the last time and we want her to rest. We still have our other female golden, Zoe who is getting prettier by the day. Next year she'll be ready.
