The Migrante International is one of the culprits why OFW are taking the risk of getting a work in that region and why million of million of Filipinos become unemployed(jobless).

    Why?

Because they are extremely supporting the communist based Kilusan Mayo Uno(KMU) and Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP). The KMU have successfully shut-down thousands of factories and businesses by means of abusing their rights as labor organization(i.e. Strike, No Work time, economic sabotage, encouraging corruption in worker level, etc), which resulted in mass(millions) unemployment and massive poverty.

Both Migrante and KMU are trying to established a HERO image to the people....but unfortunately, day by day, more and more people have now realized, who they are and what they are.

May kasabihan "Ang basurang tinapon niyo...babalik din sa inyo". So, if you trying to blame the government for the messes that you made...then you have to think now before people will get after you.

Relax lang brod, misaka na imong sugar. I am afraid I have to agree with you about Saudi. I would even recommend to blacklist Saudi for our expats coz this country is just too dangerous for us. Been there, done that. But sadly, the political stake is too much for us now to do this. Maybe if we can be oil self-sufficient and a economicall richer, then we can do that. Dubai is good, might be a good place as long as you got the proper permits.

The problem with some of our kabayans is their plain stupidity...freaking stupid. It is the same as like you put your arms in the crocodiles mouth and when the it snaps it close, you blame the croc for biting you. A-holes.

True that the real Pinoy Expats got bad impression from their host countries because of these few bad eggs.

I guess what made this group of OFW to resort to such action is because Dili enough ang tabang nga gina-extend sa gobyerno sa mga problemado nga OFW... considering nga ang OFW ang gahatag ug dakung income sa atung nasud...

We know for a fact nga many times nagkulang jud ang gobyerno sa pag provide ug assistance s mga OFW's... Dpat gani unta providan nig superior nga pag-atiman ang mga OFW! Usahay man gud kung nagka-problema na ang OFW or nagka-kaso more often napasagdan tawon sila... mahibaw-an nlng bitayunon na diay...

You might be right from your experience since you claimed to be a former OFW yourself but I am afraid I have to disgree about you complains about the government.

I myself is an expat but I don't expect something from the government. I believed that some OFWs have gone too far in asking for the previleges accorded to them. When you go out of your country you are basically on your own. It is also your responsibility to know what you are going into so that anything that will happen to you, it is at your own risk. The government cannot just take care of you everytime. As JFK said, " Ask not what your country do for you-ask what you can do for your country". I believe the government thru the POEA have done their best according to their capacity to help the expats. If you have pass thru the proper channels, you might understand what I mean.

If an OFW will just take heed of the warnings and instructions that the POEA have given, then they would have been in a better situation. There is no law that prevents anybody from travelling to a country (especially Mid East) with visit visa, but POEA and DFA clearly gives warning about the risk of working while having this visa. The POEA have made enough help to many unfortunate OFWs to bring them back here in RP but in many cases they are not in the news.

As an example, have you heard about that British woman that is behind bars now in Dubai for violating the *** laws of Dubai? The poor lady has been languishing now for more than 5 months in jail for a charge that we can say preposterous. Now remember the UAE is a former protectorate of the UK. But did the UK government made radical moves to help there citizen? NO. maybe they offered legal help but basically, she is on her own. Did she blame the UK government? Maybe she did personally, but I didn't hear that in the news. So when your in another country, just follow the rules and you will be safe.

I agree with you 100% cottonmouth... as u said this is situational, specially expat ka, you are very independent this goes as well sa mga pilipino nga permanent resident na sa ilang adopted country... Ikaw ray mudala sa imong kaugalingon, you're free to roam around...

But my concern goes to the other sectors sa mga OFW, like DH, laborers, skilled workers nga naay mga agency nga nag-gunit nila, They are the most prone to abuse, specially ning atung mga kababayin-an nga nag DH intawn para mabuhi ang pamilya... We need our gov't to guide them and help them, kay kung di amo nila ang mag-abuso ang ilang agency sad mu-abuso nila... Looy intawn... if you've heard a news of a pinay DH sa lebanon nga niambak tawon sa flat sa iyang amo para maluwas sa abuso.... (Dapat unta naay mga safeguards and protection clause ang kontrata ang recognized by govt's concered, usually naa ni sa mga bi-lateral agreements between gov'ts, it's being pushed by our gov't, pero very slowly kay they dun want to offend the other gov'ts)

And the JFK saying also applies to them (OFW), and they've done their part for the country! They went abroad to be self-sufficient, para mabuhi ang pamilya ug dili mahimong problema pa sa gobyerno, 2nd they've contributed sa kaban sa gobyerno pina-agi sa ilang remittances! that's why our economy stayed afloat sa bisan unsang krisis kay tungod tawon sa remittances sa mga OFW, and it kept the countries inflation rate at the minimum... halos OFW remittences na ang nag-save sa atung nasud sa sunod-sunod nga krisis... unsay pay i-expect sa gobyerno aning mga OFW?
The gov't in return should take care of our lowly OFW's...
