Hello Fellow Istoryans..

last april 2007 , I bought an HP Pavillion DV2205TX in singapore. then naka feel na jud ko an init jud kaau sya sa left wrist part, wa ko kasabot and while mag games ko sometimes ma palong sya. sige ko pamalit ug mga air cooler which naka help pud, pero pag dec. 2007 naguba najud(8 months), inig on, mu beep sya, 1 long beep then 2 short beeps which indicated a video problem, So nangita ko sa akong receipt and warranty and good thing, asia pacific akong warranty. then nag pa ilis ko sa HP SM , pag january 2008 nakuha na nako, giilisdan nila ug motherboard which is lipay rako kay wa nako kabayad and di na kaau init. pag june 2008 nag plan ko na ilis nako ug laptop kanang gamay na baratohon para sayun dad-on which is ako gisuwat pag post nako, gi sell mani nako ug barato sa buy and sell diri sa istorya. good thing walay naka palit kay recently lang(OCTOBER 14, 200 nahitabo nasad ang katong nahitabo. same problem 1 long beep , 2 short beeps. nitawag ko sa HP SM then told them my story pero they told me na 3-month warranty radaw ang motherboard replacement. unsa gud ni dapat 1 year sad unta kay newly used board gud na. (In my case 9 months ra ang gamit) which di sad nako ma blame kay nag sunod2x rana sila sa POLICY sa HP. kung mu palit ko ug motherboard nga i think 30-50k nag huna huna ko na kaysa mupalit ko motherboard para ani, nga mahal kaau plus service charge sa HP, ako nalang ni e abandon. nya ang kwarta maka gasto pag lain nga laptop na baratohon kaysa mupalit sa motherboard which maguba nasad after 9 months sa akong pag basa basa sa internet daghan sad diay nagka problema ani... mao jud problemaha

nya tungod man jud ni aning NVIDIA problem nga nag issue ang Dell ug HP ug extended warranty
nya ang gi extend nila kay sa mga corporate customers radaw kanang mga dagkong kompanya nga bulto ang palit. kita tawng mga gagmay na consumer kalolooy.

So ako di najud ko mu buy ug HP, which mao sad ako e advise sa akong friends nga mu ask nako ug opinions
when I thought branded sya wa nako problema. ako pani gi lower ang price last week, good thing jud walay naka palit. kay madaot na nuon ta ani if naguba in their hands.

so ako nalang tingali ni ibaligya isa isa which ang ma baligya pa ang RAM, dvdwriter, hard disk etc. or ibaligya nako tanan kaisa ug barato then ang mupalit na pailis sa inahak na motherboard.

Me too I thought branded computers are meant to be better than clones. Dili diay now I know.

It doesnt matter clones right? as long maayo lang nimo pagka combines ang mga PC components. Payts na. HP is good for printers right? when it comes to other products I dont think HP is good.

yup di jud lalim, considering the cost, 120k ni sa ato money pag buy nako. then tungod sa nvidia na fault and hp na policy na wa giapil tanan sa extended warranty. ma hulog nig useless, ila unta himoon is to make a new motherboard na fault free para dili tag 9 months ra ang lifespan.

ako nka palit man ko ug HP dv9700t pero direct purchase ni sa HP online nya customize pa...
at dat tym ngsearch ko mga specs sa laptops... wla sd ko ngsearch sa mga reviews...
ang main culprit ani ky ang mga nvidia cards man...
dat tym nga ni palit ka murag mao to nga tym nga dghn failure rate sa mga laptops labi na naay nvidia cards pero dli ra HP nga company asta ang DELL ug uban pa...
i jst hop nga wla maapil ako model sa mga naay defective nvidia cards...
na enganyo rman ko aning HP ky barato au cla ba compare sa ubang brands wit same specs...
ang ako ta gus2 a2 ky DELL or APPLE pero halos same cla price mas mhal kesa HP...
oh well bsag asa cguro ta ani...

branded computers nowadays are known to be overpriced and performs lower than modified ones that costs lower than branded computers.

sakto ka brad, usually pinaka-barato ni nga mga components pero ari dapat na bawion sa warranty services kuyog sa unit which in this case bati. i work for one, btw. *cough*d3ll*cough* which is nice jud ang warranty coverage KUNG naa ka sa US

Its sad to know this though.. tsk tsk..

Oh well you can assemble a branded type PC easily though. Main difference between branded and unbranded are:
1.) Power Supply used sa branded is reliable and stable, not cheap clone ones. (We now have branded PSUs available locally, google is your friend, research the parts before you buy)
2.) Parts used are tested quality parts as well (you can do this yourself via research)
3.) Casing is unique to the brand (Mod and you will have a one of a kind case)
4.) Customized Aps (object dock, deep freeze for recovery disc replacements, etc..)

You can do all of that yourself.
