ako nagka gusto ko ug foreigner dili tungod sa kwarta or sa maka gawas. Natrabaho na gud ko for 1 year sa new york city before ko na ka uyab ug kano. And compared sa iya sweldo, mas dako ako sweldo kay sa iyaha...So in other words financially stable na ako family, naa nami house ur uban pa! plus in process na pud ako green card! So ngano sa kano man? kay dako cya ug kasingkasing, daku ug pasensya, loving kaayo, caring pa gyud... and ang ipanaka rason... dako ug....---toot---- hehehehhe

I'm married to a european for almost 20 yrs now. I was 23 and worked at one of the prestigious hotel in Cebu. It was my first job and really enjoyed with my friends' company during day off's and after work hours and above all wala koy uyab at that time. Then came this good looking well dressed man, very romantic in his ways, very courteous and patient...hehehe maghulat intawon siya after sa akong duty. He wanted to marry me though I was the one who said no of all the girls he met. Unsay pagtoo sayon sayon ra?
Then I've learned to appreciate him though i was very hesitant. WhenI told my workmates that I'm taking into consideration this man they told me I wasn't desperate at all so why jump into the ditch...To make a story short we got married in 2 months time...

But not all that glitters is gold. There were hardships to overcome, different culture and language barrier, hahay dili jud lalim. I'm very fortunate my marriage works and he's still the same man I've met 20 yrs back., very caring and family oriented. He loves to come home in cebu with me and stays with my family. Daghan jud marriage for convenience akong nakita diri. Pero to each his own lagi, they might have married foreigners for convenience to feed the family in pinas but most of the time they are paying for the unhappiness deep inside them.

    stellina: hapi for u mam!

my point about this thread is being practical is important for most filipinas who tied a knot with their foreigner hubby/bfs'..some of them does'nt know the real status about these men,all they can think of is "VISA" and "DOLLAR EARNING".Lucky for them who got married to a good white/black husband but there are those who suffered.on the other hand, for foreigners who look for "EXOTIC" beauties(asians, generally) as camille wrote:gnahan cla ug pet,(grabe sad..hehehehe!ok pa cguro ug helper/alalay) it means how hospitable a filipina is,yes, its true for most filipinas.but some foreigners are not aware that marrying a filipina is like marrying the clan/family of hers, meaning they have to dish them out.Well,in general,DEPENDE ra ghapon na sa tawo,swerte2x ra na.....
